Whilst you and I both agree that parcel traffic at this time of year is unprecedented, we have to ask the question, why.
Is it a backlog caused by sickness, isolation etc?
Or is it due to the increase in items coming into RMG?
I would lean to the former as the main reason. IMO

And while parcels have increased, for whatever reason, it is nothing like crimbo.

Social distancing does not exist within RMG.
Managers aren't going to send you home. Posties ain't going to walk, despite what most say.
And the majority have already taken their 2 weeks because somebody coughed in their household.

We could go on strike in the next month if it was deemed necessary. But it's not going to happen.
Will RMG accept the ballot result as it was, and let the timescales for IA roll over? Nah! Of course they won't. Come September, RMG will announce that the ballot is now void because the terms of IA and notification has not been met.
There will then be further "talks" without the presence of Mr Back, of course, and the CWU will have to ballot again.
The result will be the same. A massive yes, out of the posties who do vote.
I have a feeling that the turnout may be substantially higher.

Again, RMG will never go out of business. Correct me if i'm wrong, but there was a caveat attached to the privatisation. So if the company struggles, it will be renationalised. Correct?
