Oh how I wish I could be so nieve and disagree with audited accounts but then again, that stance "wood" not make me money.

When something looks too good to be true - it usually is (or when it comes to stocks - it more than likely is).

Nothing is risk free and the nieve frozen idiot saying its practically watertight is an absolute fool.

Information could well be incorrect but he wouldn't have said if he hadn't heard from someone more senior.

Even at 30p I'll lose a 5 figure sum, so trust me, I'm in no way happy about this deal or what's gone on at the company.

I have great faith in my good friend and I only invested in Wood because its roots are local to me and my friend is an outstanding leader who I hold in high regard. Its ashame the same cant be said about his senior managers or ex managers, my lesson out of all this is I will stick mainly with Global Equity Funds and I wont judge a company on the performance of one individual - Sam, Elon, Jeff, Mark, Jim, Bob... the list goes on and on.

I have been informed-

The yes vote has crossed the 75% threshold and the 30p accepted take over price will be declared after the court hearing tomorrow.

Turns out the institutions didn't have the appetite for a long term recovery play. Wood was told point blank from the institutions that they wouldn't be investing more through a rights issue.

30p it is. It will be good to finally draw a line under this and move on. As someone who lives near Aberdeen, I hope few jobs are lost over the next decade but I think thats very unlikely.

Appreciate the sensible reply. Kando has sumed it up clearly, negative 400m FCF in the first 6 months of the year, its massive risk, poor value contracts sitting on the order book, poor overall management and sitting on a pile of debt.

Yes things could change by going alone but that would take considerable time and it could end up with liquidation.

Another bidder might arrive but I think thats about as likely as any other high debt company being bought out.

The market isn't always right but its right more than its wrong, and money is not flowing into Wood expecting this is a done deal at 30p, considerable risks are still ahead which could mean single digit SP, the current SP reflects this risk reward.

Thanks Kando for teaching one of the nursery kids (Dazpink and Icecool) one of the most basic lessons in investing.

I say all this as someone who is going to lose a substantial 5 figure sum if the deal goes through at 30p.

Raghusn - I like your optimistic outlook but you are delusional.

The situation is clear for all so see, people keep seeing what they want, not the truth.

There is as much chance as BP receiving an offer to be brought out as there is a second offer for Wood.

The debt is the problem, anyone who says its not, disagrees with the Sage of Omah, and those who disagree with one of the greatest investors of all time are not worth arguing with. The writing is on the wall for wood shareholders, we either accept 30p and hope the deal goes through (no guarantee even with a yes vote) or we struggle through many years of trying work through the debt burden, possible dilution and the chance (no guarantee) of liquidation in a few years time.

The market is a weighing machine in the long run and a voting machine in the short term.

Both are indicating to a 30p deal. Lets hope Sid dont pull out.

In my opinion, it is very unlikely to trade above 30p. For PI's we should be able to buy and sell 25-28p at best.

No way will this open up above 30p. You are deluding yourself thinking it will. I have an average price way above 30p so I would love to sell above that price but the harsh reality is, the company is riddled with debt. Its like dry rot eating away from the inside. You can cover it up as much as you like but the rot is not going away and only growing.

As mich as I like your optimistic outlook Ice, your are flogging a dead horse. The deal will be done at 30p, like it or lump it. Trade the market infront of you, not what you want to see.

This website does this all the time. Its just a push for the telegram channel they have. Smoke and mirrors, ignore the noise, all that matters is the vote and issuing the accounts.
