Always try and asses things from the other side. I've never been a salesman but but lets assess the facts. How many times previously have Sidara made and offer and how quickly out of the 6 month period did they decided to make another offer.

Wood was not up for sale. Sidara want to buy Wood more than they want or need to sell.

Sidara know this.

When the offer does come, I think many on here are going to be very surprised by how generous it is given the current SP.

When someone doesn't want to sell, what do you do? You make an irrefusable offer.

This is the current situation.

Trading on your feelings is a sure fire way to lose money.

Understand the risks, make a plan, risk a set amount and stick to the plan. This ain't rocket science, don't over complicate it and don't become emotionally attached, you'll win some and you'll lose far more. Learn to live with the losses.

The meeting took place. My contact (who was there) said nothing at all was mentioned about the offer price.

It was a good spirited meeting, Ken was in the London Office, addressed all that has happened (CFO and Sidara) but gave no indication to what direction he wants things to go. He made a joke about Sidara, compared them with del boy (something aroind always looking for a good deal). It was a good spirited meeting.

Ken encouraged businesses as usual, said job cuts and restructuring is just starting to filter through, encouraged a continuation on pricing work accordingly inline with the new pricing structure (10%+ more than last year) and he continued to talk about a slimer more profitable business that takes on the premium jobs and leaves the riff raf to others.

He didn't mention anything about the debt but did talk openly about loosing bonuses being a "kick in the nuts" but he emphasised "hopefully" we are still in control to make up those bonuses and the share price dividend in the near future.

That's all I got. I've asked what's been going on this week and the reply I got was "business as usual ".

Lets keep things in perspective and remember who you are playing against. A drop to this level isnt bad, a drop sub 30 would be bad but all in all it just makes an offer more likely (all be it a lower offer) which will no doubt be higher than 50p.

The renewables division has been looking for work lately and this is where some cuts should be made imo.

As much as I would like that - a 50% increase on no news is extremely unlikely.

Its great to have had such strong consolidation when the overall market has been so volatile today.

This Share could easily have seen swings of 10+% today but obviously not many are selling, a good day all round I'd say.

1 day closer to an unrefusable offer (hopefully)

SG - This is something I have been thinking all along.

I have also posted in the past stating similar questions and points to just be shot down by the riot mob on here (despite being and still being Long).

The points I have raised is, No doubt the CEO and BOD are getting updates about the review from Deloitte, they will have a better understanding than anyone about what the business is currently worth, what savings can be made and an accurate projection about profit margins going forward on the order book.

Why then would the BOD sell for less than what this value is? They would be doing a dis-service to all SH.

I think any offer will be opportunist and not reflect the true value of the company.

I'm long as I believe in the fundamentals of the company, not for a quick buck after a cheeky offer.

Patience pays more often than not in this game.

I definitely don't solely rely on TA but use is as the tool it should be. (Never met a successful TA only trader but that's a different story)

It is looking very clear that the High on the 25/02 of 40.6 (ish) is the new support.

The SP broke through yesterday at 12.45, tested and support held at 13.05 and tested again today at 8.10 and 8.25 and again support held.

This looks very strong and I wouldn't be surprised if we see the next leg up from here.

Seen this happen before and this should be illegal.

The board dont care if you are up 2000% never mind a potential 200%.

Why would the board sell a business they know is worth more?

Would you sell your house at a low ball price if you suddenly discovered you were going to die next week bacuase the kids would suddenly be up hundreds of thousands? No, you would sell it for what its worth.

But I do ask myself... why would the board sell before knowing what the report is finished?

If the offer is anything sub £1.50 (which I think is very much likely) and the report looks like its not going to be as bad as expected. Then the board would be doing shareholders a miss favour by selling the business for less than what its worth.

Just stating my observations.

I never was an accountant, I'm retired.

And Isle is not my name but the name of my dog and the name of my house (Isle of Man) with one of if not the best (strong bias) views over the Isle. But you've probably never visited being a "dirty" banker. lol.

I dont know James but he states he used to be or is a banker. I do have doubts over this as I've never seen a professional use the text lol which he puts in almost impulsively at then end of each paragraph.

I've worked with Sidara in the past, I've been involved in takeovers in in past, I know people who used to work at Wood who still Sub for Wood. We all have a sell price, for some it will be 40p, expect resistance, for some it will be 45p, expect more resistance but for the II now in play, they are playing the medium term game, profits will be taken along the way but the bulk of holding will be held to much higher levels. Its a phycological game from here, have your plan and stick to it, don't have regrets and if the plan doesn't work then learn from it.
