Thank you Toneman - really useful info which makes absolute sense. I wish all boards were as informative as this one .... too many people get so overexcited when a share swings up and down with too many people buying or selling (and getting locked in or out or losing money) on recommendations based on nothing concrete.
I have now top sliced (a big slice ??) and will keep a close eye
Thanks Toneman ... do you mean the fact that 80%+ of shares are owned by 1 company?
Thanks Skins4 - having read a bit more about pps today, I tend to agree this is going places!
Thanks Skins4 .... I am now wondering if I should purchase more ...?
Oh thanks Raj ... I hadn’t even thought of the discount scheme
Just popped into a little share dealing account I call affectionately “my dead dogs account” where I have shares i bought when I was new to trading ... Aim / Small caps, small stakes, many companies didn’t make it or had all sorts of refinancing shenanigans which rendered a fair few of my shares worthless (I have since learnt lots and doing much better and bigger on the stock market with another account) ... anyway, in October 2013 I had the good sense of buying 9500 PPS at 7.65p .... so I have just had a nice surprise indeed! Thinking of taking my husband out to dinner to celebrate ??
I am not a deramper nor a ramper .... I have a fair few of these babies at an average of 47p so today I am super happy BUT ...
I am wondering why the steep rise in these last two days after an incredible decline over the last few weeks - neither of which were justified in my view.
YES cinema complexes are reopening, people are regaining their senses and realising they won’t be struck down by covid the minute they venture out of their front door however I can’t help but think there is serious manipulation going on here (and many other shares) and I am contemplating selling a portion today ....
Please don’t shoot me down in flame ..... I welcome your views on why I should or shouldn’t ...
Oh ok ?? ..... nothing to worry about then so I will go back to my gardening ... or maybe I should top up? Decision decision
Why the brutal drop? Any news I have missed?
I am in the same boat for a small investment Horse1 .... all the way back to 2008 too! Then, it was a dead cert and a goldmine being discovered that was going to make us all rich ?? .... well it didn’t and likely won’t (Reneuron was the other one I picked up at some point ages ago and Valirx too - both lost me money) .... I was trying to warn young investors on another pharma board recently, to be cautious of mega rampers and also only investing what they can afford to lose ... I guess some things you can only learn through your own experience ...! GLA
I am a very long time holder of Lloyds and have been mostly in the red over the last decade (I think my blind faith in Lloyds has lead me to make emotional rather than rational at times) ... I haven’t followed this board for ages - probably since the last MrMeerkat fundraiser 18 months ago. I sold a fair bit in the high 40s on the covid way down and used the money to buy solid companies which have since bounced back significantly.... I still have 50,000 Lloyds and I cannot decide whether to just sell the rest and invest elsewhere.... I welcome any thoughts from anyone on this board as to mid term recovery. Thank you and GLA
Not a de ramp ...
Just a common sense observation ...
Fully funded does til 2021 NOT guarantee that by then this company will have made any significant progress or brought approved products to market and making money which is the basis for profit and therefore share price going up steadily.
I just hope that there are not too many new investors who bought at the height reading on this board that this was a dead cert gold mine and now trapped with huge paper losses or worse, having to sell at a big loss because they need the money ....
GLA and remember, there are lots of pharma companies and only few get the gold tickets ...
This one May still be the one but don’t invest money you 1. Can afford to leave in for several years 2. Can’t afford to lose if the worst happens
And before anyone shoots me in flame, I repeat, this is neither a ramp or a de ramp for Avacta ..... DYOR
I am tearing my hair out with HL Smiler and just written to them for the second time in a week regarding live price issues .... classic this morning when I lost £1500 on cineworld because I 1. Couldn’t see live prices 2. Couldn’t get a quote until the share I was trying to trade had gone back down a fair bit. They are also not very fast at answering emails plus they are no longer (for some time now) displaying recent trades and trade volume ..... I am worried their whole platform will crash soon and looking for an alternative
This is what I read too so does it mean that if I held shares on May 19 and sold them on May 21 I am entitled to buy rights issues shares? Hargreaves say no as I would have had to be holding shares by end of May 22
