Right now I'm monitoring US Nasdaq stocks every single day with ' news' which has just broken, and creates the sudden price action which is great for day trading. Based on this study, it's obvious to me that anybody who expects some nice smooth price action from MATD in the future is most likely deluded. Even with positive news it will continue to be a volatile, crazy ride. Every day I watch a dozen or so US small cap stocks with ' positive breaking news ' shoot up and then often fall back rapidly once the day traders and the algos have done their work. People are up against computers which are using algos based on technical analysis.

If you look at a MATD candlestick daily chart then it's obvious that the price action for years has been dominated by technical analysis, and algo trading. Yes, you get ' news ' but then it always spikes to previous resistance levels. Recently it hit a double top on the 28/12/23 and then on the 17/01/24. Now we have fallen back from the last top of 4.5p into what looks like an ascending trend line which started on 14/11/23. It remains to be seen whether it supports on bottom of this trend line which we are on now, or whether it falls through it - though the last daily candlestick and the one forming so far today look quite bullish.

I must say that I am amazed when I hear that some ' long term investors ' who get involved with AIM stocks appear to be oblivious to charts and technical analysis. I know of one trader who scalps US stocks ever day that have had ' news ' on that day, and he has consistently made several million Dollars for each of the last few years. And that's all based on scalping on a daily basis using technical analysis - with the catalyst each day being some kind of positive news release. Anybody trading MATD these last 7 or 8 years could already have made serious money. This recent drift lower since 22/01/24 has been on low volume by the way.

Hamm - you really shouldn't be making statements such as ' no risk at this point ' - particularly with AIM stocks. The fact is that there is no such thing as ' no risk ' with any kind of stock market dealings - and it's unbelievably foolish to be labelling a company which has existed since 2007 but has never had any revenue as ' no risk ' 4 or 5 years after it obtained the exploration licence, but has never been able to achive local consent.

I hold quite a lot of MATD shares, and I'm hoping for good news soon - but you wont see me posting ' get in their guys, this is an amazing opportunity, ' or ' this is no risk - a once in a lifetime opportunity guys, ' or similar comments every day on here. Your unsubtle and tedious ramping is not going to influence the share price anyway, in case you hadn't realised this....

For me the biggest ramper on here is Hamm. At least with WOS he sometimes provides useful intel, even if at times it's a bit repetitive, and he posts too much. Twice a day maximum would be just fine - not 20 times a day.

Just to say that we started an uptrend on 14/11/23 and we've had two pullbacks since then - with higher lows of 2.8p and 3.5p. Today we just breached a previous resistance level of 4p, and if it holds above this level, then eventually old resistance may then become new support. In which case in the event of a third pullback in the current trend, it may support at around 4p. We had a daily doji candle yesterday - indicating uncertainty, however today was a more positive daily bullish candle. Twice already since late Dec a move up to a resistance level of 4.5p failed each time - so that will take plenty of volume and momentum to punch through. I'm guessing that without any news the next pullback will probably happen once the price level touches 4.5p for the third time since late Dec.

Professional - kindly tell us who you are using to short MATD. If you wont say, then we can all assume that you are an attention seeking troll. What you have written doesn't give the impression at all that you know anything about professional trading. I've never heard you mention anything about technical analysis indicators for example.

Cybertron - well said. I would like to know who he's supposedly using to short the stock, as I'm not sure that it's possible to find a broker who you can trade CFDs with on very small cap AIM stocks. I presume that the only way that anyone could short would be by using CFDs ?

And as someone said, even if you could short these kinds of stocks, then the last one you would choose would be a mining explorer which might go from 4p to 35p in a very quick period of time. Even with a stop the slippage would be horrendous very likely.

I presume you have never looked at any daily charts, because if you did you would see that the share price has bounced off several support and resistance levels for many years now.... ? There are plenty of online bar charts to look at - and you can draw in support and resistance lines to see what I mean.

And when earlier this year when there was that huge MM manipulated down spike on an RNS which no doubt caught plenty of stops, the price was rapidly marked down to a previous support level....Coincidence ? I think not.

Landicaamans - has it occurred to you that it's central government which is transferring the funds to the provincial government, and not PM directly ? Given that PM have already paid MRPAM, the delay in the Ministry of Finance then transferring the funds to the provincial government is probably to ensure that everything is legally watertight. I can't see how this governor can wriggle out of what has been agreed when the central government makes the payment - it might possibly be different if PM were paying them directly. I would imagine that the governor would be in very hot water if he reneged on what has been agreed.

Very happy with this RNS. I think the people who have been carping non-stop about PM's management need to realise that the detractors have little to no idea of what work the staff of PM are doing on a day to day basis. I can't imagine that the regional governor will block anything now, once the payments are made to the herders. I'm pretty sure now that we will be extracting oil once the weather allows this.

I had to smile at the bit at the comment "the mechanics of the transfer have taken some time for the Government to determine" given that it's PM which has stumped up the money, and the ministry simply has to transfer it over to the herders - only in Mongolia....Anyway - I am very confident that we will have the governor's signature quite soon - certainly soon enough to start extracting the oil in the first half of 2024.

Interesting to note that even the Russians back in 2016 pulled out of cooperative ventures in Mongolia relating to precious metal mining, due to the unstable political situation in the country. Seems to me that Mongolia is just not a good place to do business simply because the country isn't governed properly. What exactly is the agenda of this crazy regional governor ?

Doc83 - yes, it makes my blood boil too. They have been told what to do by central government - no ifs or buts. They need to just sort it out and do what they have been instructed to do by the authority which actually runs the country ie the Mongolian Cabinet.

Just a thought. People nearly always refer to the documentation sign off as being the ' LP ' which I presume means 'local planning. ' Is this really correct however, or is it a bit of a misleading term ? Was the designation by the Mongolian cabinet of the land as being ' Special Purpose ' not effectively a planning permission which overrides any provincial authority ?

Surely there's a world of difference between having the paperwork finalised for a permission which has effectively already been granted by central government, versus a planning decision which still needs to be made at the local level which could still go either way ? The RNS in July for me was referring to the former rather than the latter - I never got any impression from the RNS that the local authority still had to make a decision about the land - rather that they needed to complete all the procedures.

I'm not losing any sleep about being underwater right now, as to my mind the province has absolutely no choice other than to sign it off. Their parliamentary system is similar to ours, and it's the Mongolian cabinet that has designated the land as special purpose. I can't see how the province can defy the cabinet, otherwise their actions would be deemed illegal by central government. Yet the sceptics on here talk about it as though it's similar to a local authority here in the UK making a decision on whether to grant planning permission or not. I don't think it's anything like that.

I would guess the answer to that is that most who post on here and have shares are probably well underwater, so why crystallise a big loss ? My average is 4.1, and it's galling to know that I sat on a very handy profit back in May, but didn't take it back then. The last few years with MATD has been all about sudden spikes followed by just as dramatic falls to say a third of the peak of the spike. The risk for people like me is that the next spike will follow exactly the same pattern as the last 7 or 8 years.

No wonder - the MMs are more than happy to hoover up shares in their accumulation phase at these price levels....

Like you say, due process needs to be followed as was stated in the 6th July RNS. It's just that some people talk on here as though the regional authority can still make a decision on whether the Heron development can go ahead or not. In my opinion, as of the 5th July 2023 they no longer have any say in the matter, and quite simply what's happening now is that all the protracted administrative formalities are being carried out, albeit quite slowly. As you mentioned, these kind of bureaucratic processes are also quite often incredibly slow in the UK.

Ok, it's the regional authority which we are talking about - however, Mongolia is not governed via a federal system. At the end of the day, the Executive in Mongolia is the PM and his Cabinet - and the Special Purpose designation was granted by the Mongolian Cabinet.

If in the UK, central government overruled a planning permission granted by the local authority, then the local council would have no option other than to comply - even if they didn't like the decision. I can't see how it would be any different with the Mongolian regional authority.
