Cev, I was reading one of your post the other evening and came to the similar conclusion about you. But not being insecure of nature, patronising or condescending - I refrained from correcting you. I notice, and I am glad, that today you are using concerted effort to check your posts before making them.

Because,

1. this is a chat forum and as such degree dissertation replies are not necessary .

2. Different parts of the country have accents and don’t speak the BBC English which means they make simple mistakes 'could of' instead of 'could have'

3. English is not everyone’s strong point, as maths is not everyone’s.

4. Personally , I know 14 languages , 13 being computer languages and hence make slip ups in them all

5.. Most people on here , if not all, make mistakes and its a given that we don’t get anal about it; the idea is the important thing

6. people may be multitasking on here and such make slip ups.

Upon reflection, I think you might be on to something here,,, I think the west should remove any trace of interference, including the passing of technology and so as to ensure that its been completed- we should have regular UN inspection teams travelling around such nations – filming death , disease , hunger so as to ensure that we can firmly see and acknowledge a ‘them’ and ‘us’ approach. Bring on the decaying carcases I say! I want to see Africans living in mud huts, Indians, south Americans, oriental’s all dying on my screen from tick borne encafalitus , diphtheria, polio.

Once done, I can rest easy in the knowlegd that we , the west, have undone all the horrendous acts of the past

You may have a valid point, which I might extend further to include that had the west not meddled around the world – distributing vaccines (WHO), antidotes, clean water programs, agriculture, modernity, democracy, then we (the west) may have saved much money and could console ourselves in the knowledge that third world & developing nations pose no threat .

While I understand your sentiment about opening up competition, what many forget is the US has for years footed the bill to keep the pathways of trade open and free. Being the policeman of the world has benefited everyone except the US Tax payer. Trump, while I also find him erratic and even sometimes comical, is right assertion that America should no longer foot the bill.

Shipping cost come from Chinese taxes; money that other countries would have spent on pensions, well fare, medical care etc. Expansion of the Silk road is just further development of the model that has served them well. The average Chinese person believes that china is great because of what they have developed and achieved as if it had been developed from scratch , and doesn’t understand, welcome or appreciated that huge sums of western money was historically used during R&R on the items which has given them technological leap. I don’t knock the Chinese people, but I do knock western gormlessness over the last 20/30 yrs

Lets not forget that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) government pay all the shipping for items manufactured by Chinese companies. If you or I had a factory based there ; we would have to pay those costs – its this model that allowed them to start by shipping the cheap stuff 20 yrs ago at next to no cost to their companies. This in turn has generated the revenue for the country to buy-up west companies and their associated patents , all the time we filled our universities with their students- in the hope that we might westernise them – I blame Blair and Clinton for allowing them into the WTO, back in the late 90’s . Not wanting to inflame the thread; I would hope (HOPE with this or any government -LOL) ; that two designs would be picked for the UK - so that if a design floor is identified while running - at least not all the reactors would need to be shut down. (eggs in one basket)

Secondly - AI is still very much in development and will continue at great pace; simply go back and look at 70's computer technology to gain an sense of perspective.

My 10pence worth - The Issue with the NHS is/are

1. Many things may bare the NHS badge, but are no-longer actually owned by the NHS - PFI introduced by the Tories and accelerated by NuLabour hollowed out the NHS resulting in a jobs-worth mentality between PFI contractors and NHS (every change now requires a variation order and huge sums of money)

2. Compensation culture now means every last process/medication needs to be audited to protect against blame

3. Invasion force from abroad helping themselves.

4. The demand that all ranks of NHS staff must have degree’s - paid for by the NHS, for jobs which once upon a time didn’t need a degree

5. Computer systems not fit for purpose which have netted the private sector huge sums

6. expansion of services to deal with ‘conditions’ which historically were not provided by NHS
