GarryGraham - it’s horses for courses on here - JohnBriggs is part of the disgruntled shareholders group who’s decided to troll this board, seemingly for cathartic reasons. I’m happy to indulge him and on this occasion it happens to be pointing out FACTUALLY where he was wrong ( incidentally it wasn’t just him pedalling the tosh about no one wanting to consider dealing with CEG. )
May I congratulate you for understanding that I have scored the points on the facts here and now - I don’t need to wait until the deal is completed to be proved correct.
Whether the deal completes is another matter which I’ve opined about, historically, on a regular basis. I consider it extremely likely it will get over the line - whereas others, including, perversely, you GarryGraham, who claims to have filled his boots with shares since the Chevron RNS, appear somewhat less optimistic- even going as far as to introduce, with no evidence whatsoever, the idea that there will have been `slippery fish ’ conditions in the contract seemingly allowing Chevron to exit if the mood takes them!
You say ` I am just concerned with getting the oil found and in big numbers. Negotiations and RNS’s mean nothing in the deal is not got over the line or the oil is not drilled or found. ‘ This comment appears somewhat naive- if RNS means nothing why did you buy shares after the Chevron RNS ( which doesn’t guarantee they will drill or that oil will be found! ).
CEG is an Oil Exploration and Production Company it’s a very high risk venture for reasons too numerous to list here. It’s latest venture appears to have rewarded the work of CEO to get involved in Uruguay when Majors weren’t interested and now the company is in a much stronger position to determine it’s future, particularly when the $12.5 million is paid by Chevron.
There is a good body of individuals who’ve taken a punt on success being achieved, be it short term, with Uruguayan Government/ Chevron signing off or medium to long term with exposure to surveying/ drilling. The choice is down to each individual whether they stay or go and at what stage - that’s surely the interest for most onlookers.
The company have done a great job, latterly, with the transformation of prospects and I applaud them!
