As for my gender, it's masculine, or at least it was the last time I looked. But we live in a dangerous world, and one's assets can suddenly disappear (it happened to me with Metal Tiger, which inflicted a horrid wound on my finances).

There may be good reasons for changing the thread title, e.g. the original one was alarmist, and intended to strike fear into the hearts of those who hold GGP; or the discussion has developed in a direction that makes the original title no longer adequate.

I also have a problem with this "re" business. Most people think it's an abbreviation for "regarding," but it actually comes from the Latin for "thing."

We are lucky that we are now rich enough to spend time discussing these completely trivial questions; it's a sign of civilisation.

You have my support on this. It's not a matter of loyalty or disloyalty to Greatland (I've been here since 2011), but of respect for the facts (in this case, how ETF's make their money; which is not by picking winners, but by charging management fees).

This correction strikes me as entirely normal after a sharp rise; it's profit-taking. It happened after we first rose to 15p in July; and it will happen again after our next rise. Nothing to worry about, provided it's limited to a fall of 20%.

Thanks for the post, magic. Some profit-taking from the recent high was to be expected, and is in the natural order of things. Below 20 pence would be more serious, because that kind of fall can become self-perpetuating. Above that, no probs.

It's interesting you mention Gervaise H's purchase (at 2.77p) in March. The share price immediately rose to 3.3p, and then continued rising until the present day (for there has been no correction worth speaking of). "Follow the directors" is the one rule of investment life, which I believe to be true; unlike "it's never wrong to take a profit," which will keep you in poverty for a lifetime.

Thanks for this, Flashy. It's nice to make jokes, when one's happy; and we're all happy now, because we're rich (or at least less impecunious than before).
