I'm surprised the share price peaked so early in the day (before 9 o'clock). Last time (July 2021), it peaked in the afternoon; and these AIM shares normally peak in the late morning, at mid-day, or thereabouts.

It's the first time I've ever known a share to rise on a fundraise. But there's a first time for everything.

I wonder if the investor is bigmj. He doesn't have to tell us; but it would be nice if he did.

It's informative; and what's remarkable is, there's no malice. This must change soon, human nature being what it is. I'm itching for the chance to quarrel with someone; or I would be, if I was fifty years younger.

Just hang on, and you'll be OK. I've mucked up on the timing myself often enough (including on GGP in 2010); but if you've chosen the right company, time will bring you back into profit.

One of the things that persuaded me to buy is that Newmont hold 15% of the shares. I thought, they must be either intending to buy out the company themselves, or anticipating that someone else will do so. We shall see.

I'm so glad I switched from GGP to OMI. I'm carrying a large loss here, but things would have been even worse if I'd stayed over there.

Yes, it's depressing. No-one's interested. There's no selling pressure, but no-one wants to buy, either.

Thanks for this. "Problems prior to Newcrest," I well remember; notably Newmont walking away from Ernest Giles in 2018, or thereabouts. For many years, GGP was a complete failure (I bought in 2010 or 2011 at 3p, and it took nine years to break even).

Broadly speaking, I agree with you. But we need to bear in mind that Newcrest were always in a hurry, and at one point had twelve rigs drilling to explore Havieron; whereas Newmont & Agnico have preferred to proceed at a leisurely pace (a decade here or there - though much to us - is nothing to them), and for the last two years have been financing one rig only. Which may explain why we've suffered a declining share price.

Brad has a charm of his own; and I have no objection to the golf clubs in the background, which showed that (despite being old), he is still physically active.

But would I prefer Gervaise Heddle, former CEO of GGP, or Paul Johnson, CEO of POW, as CEO? Of course, I would. Both of them are much more charismatic, and have put much more of their own money into the business.

Highly unlikely, but it's possible. I've seen it before with GGP.

This share price movement reminds me of something, GGP in January 2020. A once in a lifetime experience, I thought. But perhaps not.
