Whereas I may not agree with how Lp puts things at time I do agree that Genedrive will succeed due to Beckman. Without that tie in I would certainly still not be here and I would have moved my money elsewhere but I have not sold a single share since the RNS on the 4th August and I have been adding.
The 'shorters' were correct that genedrive had a gold standard product but no sales and without approvals were just treading water. The Beckman news came out of the blue and filled in several large gaps that Genedrive really needed to stand any chance of doing well (in fact the only box they really had ticked was Gold Standard Test)
Market - As a UK Company into the US market we were the poor boy looking into the window of the rich mans house hoping for scraps but the Beckman tie in, if they are happy with what they see during validation - and even the shorters agree it is a gold standard test ;) , will actually allow Genedrive a seat at the table in what is a market that is screaming out for quick reliable tests (News reference Bill Gates who's foundation owns 13.66% of GDR - hmmmm)
Infrastructure - Genedrive could have scaled up to meet some demand but what Beckman offer them, and the locations - right where demand is greatest state by state, they wouldn't have been able to do that without the collaboration.
Demand - Other than India the US is one of the worst effected countries so to be able to base production in the demand's 'back yard' as it were is spot on. Price per test will certainly not be an issue in the US either.
Approval - As it has been mentioned US companies are in the front of the queue for approval and UK companies have to wait their turn. If we don't get approval before validation, and Beckman really like what they see, I can see that approval won't take long after that with their leverage in the US.
In fact I believe Beckman bring a lot more to the collaboration than Genedrive (Genedrive being a piece of the pie) and I believe that Beckman (once again if happy with the validation phase) might just put in an offer to buy Genedrive to have it all for themselves and get Genedrives other products as a bonus. May not even get the chance to get any sales in India and the 10 other countries mentioned.
And I do not believe £200m - 250m is out of the question either so when I see £3.84 rubbished as ramping fantasy I wonder if people truly grasp what could happen in what may be a very short space of time ?
