Rock .. you missed another fact like Kelso ... the SOTP valuation was 220p and not 225p ... I thought you knew what you were on about ?

Pmh198 ......... "All these people saying he won’t take on the cheap, charities, friends, made statements about low offers (he has never disclosed value of offer - on purpose I suspect ) etc..you are wrong"
What an incredibly ignorant comment. No one knows who is right or wrong before something happens.
For a year there have been many saying "You can't get an offer at multiples of SP ... can't happen ... won't happen" etc etc. and then HOTC offer came along to prove that the people who said it wasn't possible were clearly ignorant.
Reputation is clearly important to MM, as much as making money is, and if someone thinks he can turn down 170p as materially undervaluing the company 18+ months ago, and improved offers from Apollo when the first one got knocked back, and then push through a low ball offer they are clearly blinkered to the facts of to how it will get support if the larger holders stood with MM to knock back previous offers.
Now I don't know for sure what will happen, no one does, that is why at the moment it is just an opinion but to say your opinion is fact and others are wrong just makes you look very ignorant ... In MY Humble Opinion.
Ceri ... Well done on being the voice of calm amongst the flappers and guessers on here
"What would happen if Kelso's activity spooked MM and his supporters into making a bid to take THG private at around £1.50."
Pigs would be flying out the window.
Use at least some sense based on what we do know. The larger shareholders turned down an offer when Ingenuity on it's own was considerably higher than 65p ... they are not going to then accept a bid of 150p for all.
From Kelso RNS
Significant net investment of GBP5.0 million at an average cost of 63.1p, in THG plc ("THG"), resulting in a gross realised and unrealised gain on investments of GBP1.76 million, a return of c.35%
Kelso currently own just over 7m shares, 0.55% of THG. MM buys 6% of Kelso so in a round about way buys another 430k THG shares without needing to add to his THG holdings.
"Noclue……know what you mean. Simply just trying to shut them up isn’t he"
Yes basically ... when they started to look like even a slight threat then he wanted to control it. Also, Canary is correct ... he is limited to what he can buy of THG so as a large % of Kelso is THG it is like he is buying more THG without going over thresholds.
I am not sure if you could argue that he is if you work out the number of shares covered by the 6% holding ?
"Reverse takeover? Could it happen?"
Not even a slight chance.
MM building stake to 10% gives him a good deal of control as he probably isn't happy with Kelso speaking to larger holders.
Tyler, so where is the 4% or 5% ?
I know what rules say but as long as they notify within a certain timeframe they do not need to list every % and that is what has happened in this case.
I have seen MANY RNS's with several % points listed so you could say they have notified for every % point and not an RNS for every %.
Also the fact you are copying FCA rules is hilarious as they have no real power in the UK markets.
Brew .. he is buying % of a company and not having a crafty spreadbet like a small PI. Doesn't matter if you suggested it or not, to even think someone used Spreadex for buying large holdings in a company is strange to say the least IMHO
"IHNC, because the rules are disclose at 3% and every 1% thereafter so my original question stands. "
No they are not. The rules are to notify when you have finished a round of buying/selling and NOT every % point. That is why you see Holding RNS's with several % points passed. Seen plenty over 25 years on the markets
3% instead of 3M
Tyler and Brew .... what on earth are you on about ?
It said the threshold was hit yesterday it does NOT say he bought 3M shares in one day and "he must have bought them through Spreadex" ? Oh dear
It looks like MM wants to build it to 10% which is the total I said Kelso need to be at to have any control. If memory serves me correctly you can call an EGM with 10% share so MM is after that kind of control.
"is there any obligation for BoD to respond to this in an official capacity."
Not even close ... Kelso hold 0.55% of THG ... you would need 10% before you had any kind of control to request anything.
For an "activist" shareholder they haven't done much of anything yet that warrants the title.
Sole, not been investing long ? There have been many over the years
Awww don't cry Rock (Maybe you might next August as you seem to be 8 months behind everyone else)
Rock putting April news as an 'Upgrade' .... how embarrassing for someone who thinks he knows what he is talking about :)
To have a bid accepted you need AT LEAST 75% acceptance and then when they get 90% of the shares in the process the rest are automatically accepted at that price.
If someone thinks that £1 will be accepted then I am not sure if I am jealous of them or not as that kind of ignorance of the facts must be very blissful to the person (and extremely painful for anyone around them)
£1 ? You sir, are a complete joke.
Brewman ... you haven't put Moni on filter yet ?
He is seriously unhinged ... his wheels came off permanently IMHO
Following qubes every move is completely meaningless
