RE: ESG11 Feb 2021 08:17
I appreciate this isn't easy , trying to balance the growth and implement this strict EGS compliance, but sure from a critical eye point of view, its a process of issuing the new contract and then inspect, fail an inspection, publish the results, and have a system to help them comply or 3 strikes and your out approach.
Transparency is key, I think boo is on the right track especially adding the big boys in to monitor and I feel it is only a matter of time until this is under control, I would like to see a stretch programme that leads this market, i.e. engage with ESG groups to find something new in the market place that enables Boo to show whats possible, i.e. 100% recyclable clothes with the full process available on the site, like the nespresso coffee process, your order, they also deliver the recycling bag with your order then they collect when you order again, this way there is minimum waste, this existing process could be "nominal" chargeable to begin with, until the scale makes it viable, that way the ESG crowd are appeased and the responsibility is somewhat pushed on to the conscious of the buyer and not the seller.
It would be interesting for Boo to do a A/B test on their site for this, if the take up is little or none, then at least they offered the service and the market just wasn't prepared to accept it.....
