ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari is scheduled to embark on a four-day important official visit to China early next month. Informed sources in Foreign Office (FO) told Business Recorder that President Zardari to Beijing on February 4 and will return to Pakistan on February 8.

So likely more to come out on various CPEC Energy projects in the coming days/week. 👍

President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a five-day visit aimed at “strengthening bilateral relations,” according to a press release from the President’s Office. The statement also noted that Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and Dr. Asim Hussain are accompanying the President during this visit.

In Beijing, President Zardari will meet with high-ranking Chinese officials, including President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.

The press release emphasized that the President’s visit to China is crucial for further enhancing bilateral relations.

It is expected to play a significant role in improving economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. During the meetings, discussions will cover key bilateral topics such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, regional connectivity, and security cooperation.

The two leaders are expected to discuss critical issues, including bilateral trade, investment opportunities, regional security, and the CPEC project.

Turning to the second phase of CPEC, Prof. Iqbal outlined its focus on business-to-business cooperation and the development of special economic zones, which are expected to further drive economic diversification and modernization. "CPEC's upgraded vision under Phase Two introduces five growth corridors that encompass industrial development, trade enhancement, technological advancement, sustainable development, and regional connectivity," Prof. Iqbal explained. These corridors aim to transform CPEC from a collection of infrastructure projects into a broad, inclusive platform that promotes long-term regional prosperity and development.

BEIJING, Feb 5 (APP):: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday invited the Chinese enterprises to visit Karachi and other parts of Sindh province to witness the rapidly developing industries and explore opportunities in areas such as clean energy, infrastructure development and public transportation projects.

Talking to a delegation led by Chairman of NORINCO International Co., Ltd. Ji Wei who called on him here on the side lines of President Asif Ali Zardari’s visit to China, he said that the governments of Pakistan and Sindh province will provide all necessary facilities.

He also welcomed NORINCO International to explore possibilities in energy-intensive industries in Sindh, utilizing the available Thar coal resources in the areas of coal chemical industries, coal liquefaction (CTL) and gasification (CTG) and coal-to-ethylene glycol production for synthetic yarn. He assured the delegation that the Sindh government will provide all necessary facilities, including assistance in finding local partners.
