Useful document but I assume covenants on bank lending my restrict POG's ability to use cash in this way rather than (say) reduce net bank lending . Does anyone know whether any covenants with POG's Russian bankers restrict , or are likely to restrict in practice, POG's ability to pre-pay the convertible bond debt before 2020 ?

Even if the coup wasn't over, I guess not. BP's risk management with numbers doubtless extends to pipeline attack . The BTC pipeline is indeed an asset for all three countries. Pipelines have of course been attacked routinely in civil war/terrorist contexts for example Colombia and Algeria. Very sadly, doubtless "ISIS" have considered attacks on such assets and protection of their own.

Daisan, I agree this is a safe and prudent move. Doubtless it is possible to estimate the effect on debt from half the production, making appropriate all-in cost assumptions . Has anyone produced a number of scenarios, with estimates of year end debt?
