The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) predicts that the country's oil and gas production will increase by 9 percent by 2024.
Norway's total oil and gas production is expected to increase over the next three years, driven by rising demand and prices, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) said on Thursday. According to NPD forecasts, oil and gas production will increase by 9 percent to 4.33 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2024.
OIL REVENUE EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS IN 2021
Norway's oil industry revenue is also expected to reach 184 billion Norwegian Krone in 2021. This is 30 billion Norwegian Krone more than the amount previously foreseen in the budget. NPD expects the country's oil revenue to be 277 billion Norwegian Krone in 2022.
GAS EXPORT IS HIGHEST IN HISTORY
The amount of natural gas exported in 2021 was also recorded as the third highest export amount in history. According to Gassco, the gas transportation system operator of Norway, natural gas exports through pipelines in 2021 increased by 6 billion cubic meters compared to 2020 and reached 113.2 billion cubic meters in 2021.
