Time for a re-rate!
Hi DT - yes I remember you very well!
Those early days of SXX where good fun, with some great posters - GavsterNBC, EndofTime and PeckhamRye are just a few that come to mind from the past. I was actually very lucky with SXX as I bought a load of shares in the Richard Poulden / North Dakota days (remember their plans to store energy in the caverns they were going to create!), before Chris Fraser got involved with the North York Moors project and lifted the price significantly in the early days.
As a good friend of mine said, there's no such thing as a bad share just bad timing!
In terms of risk/reward I think QFI is a fantastic opportunity at present.
GLA and I hope a lot more of us can meet up at next year's AGM to celebate a successful year.
I must admit that when I woke up this morning and read the RNS I wondered why I had dragged myself up to London the previous day to attend the AGM. However, as the meeting progressed, I started to feel a lot more positive:
- I was really pleased to hear that our new COO is due to start on 1st January 2022. I had feared that, as we had not heard anything, the appointment may have fallen through. We were also told that we will be very pleased with the person’s background and experience.
- We clearly have a very good relationship with Valkor and Tomco.
- We are not the only supplier/contractor being delayed by the client in Morocco due to the new VP. Jason believes that it is “when not if” the second trial is started.
- We only need 1 commercial contract with 2 MMUs to break even.
- MSC are still very keen to start the bioMSAR testing and are putting significant pressure on the OEM manufacturer to start the static engine testing.
- OEM testing will negate the Proof of Concept stage so we can move straight to the LONO phase.
- OEM testing and vessel preparation can be done at the same time.
- MSC are still very interested in standard MSAR and we are discussing the possibility of a test on one of their ships with a Wartsila engine at the moment.
- We are also looking at 4 stroke Wartsila marine engine applications with other potential clients.
- We are still speaking to Maersk even though their current focus is still on Methanol.
- Other alternative fuels such as Methanol will also require LONOs.
- We can achieve up to 50% CO2 reductions just through the use of glycerine.
All the Directors I spoke to seemed very positive about the future – Jason described the team as good “scrappers”!
Great to talk with fellow shareholders. Was hoping Longholder 1 would have bought Nurse but good that he could make the meeting without her.
This time next year Rodney……………………………………………
Arrived. Spoken to Laurie who says Jason’s presentation is going to be a “stunner”!

Very up beat assessment from Paul Hill on VOX 40 minutes in.
The UK government updated its advice on travel to Morocco to state that the Moroccan government has suspended direct flights between the UK and Morocco for an unspecified period of time.
UK passengers are not banned from travelling from the country, but must travel via a third country to do so.
The advice states that UK travellers will need to provide proof that they have been fully vaccinated for at least two weeks or a negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before boarding.
They will also be asked to present a Public Health Passenger form to the Moroccan authorities on arrival.
Quadrise Fuels International plc (AIM: QFI) notes the announcement today by the Government of Morocco regarding a ban on UK flights until further notice, due to rising UK Covid-19 cases. The Company continues to prepare for the forthcoming trial at the client site in Morocco, with equipment ready to be shipped and arrangements for fuel manufacture in place. The ban on UK flights is not expected to impact the scheduled shipment of trial equipment in October 2021. However, the ban on inbound and outbound UK flights may affect the ability of Quadrise personnel to travel to Morocco to carry out the trial, with a resultant potential impact on the trial start date. The Company continues to prepare for the commencement of the trial in Q4 2021 whilst monitoring the situation and further announcements will be made, as appropriate, in due course.
Must Listen Interview
"First dominos about to fall - potash price has doubled since FS - no capital fund raise unless a strategic partner comes in - huge amount of enormous value catalysts due to come in the next couple of months".
Graham and Hayden could not have been more positive.
Fasten your seat belts!!
Feels like the dam is "close to bursting"! Hope to see old friends/investors at the AGM.
Royalty issue not resolved, although not worrying about at this stage.
Still potentially in play for Morroco and MSC.
" The small, tightly knit team at Quadrise will be fundamental to delivering this and I know that they will rise to the challenge. The forthcoming executive appointment of a new COO to replace Mark Whittle completes the Company's senior executive team led by Jason Miles, CEO, with the new COO, working alongside David Scott, Head of Finance, Bernard Johnston, Head of Operations, and Patrick Brunelle, Head of RDI."
Interesting to know who this will be.
