The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
Good morning all,
Friday is here,
On the last trading day of January,
Will we get a Friday RNS?
Today's hopefuls are:-
----------
Warbird58 - 28/01/22 - Happy Birthday!
Beresford2021 - 28/01/22
SaxonAxe - 28/01/22
Hawkspear - 28/01/22
----------
Good Luck everyone,
Cheers.
Good evening all,
Another great tweet by the company, you either believe, or you don't, your choice,
But the usual toss pots don't like the news, they don't believe it!
It is a little disappointing the footage is so poor, but then it was taken presumably on a workers phone?
I was unable to see which Caterpillar excavator model they were, but still a nice big size :-)
The company have confirmed TWO electric dragline cranes to come, as the electric supply is virtually completed.
You can't say the company has not been very proactive, whilst a sale of some assets is concluded.
Although this is not happening as quickly as we initially thought, we can't grumble with the promise of EUA v2 and future 80% of earnings dividend.
Just think positive for once, this will come good in the end, the company is getting bigger with each RNS :-)
Today's hopefuls were:-
----------
Frutsels - 27/01/22
Pwix - 27/01/22
Pewee78 - 27/01/22
WarPig1 - 27/01/22 - 13.00 pm
----------
Bad luck guys and girls, no RNS today,
Have a lovely evening, cheers.
Good morning Saxonaxe and all,
The Footsie and Dow were both up on the day until the Fed indicated interest rate rises were on the cards, the Footsie was closed, but the Dow was still open and plunged 741 points, recovering slightly, but still ending the day down, what will the Footsie do today in response?
We can take a good guess!
Today's hopefuls for a Thursday RNS are:-
----------
Frutsels - 27/01/22
Pwix - 27/01/22
----------
Good luck to you both,
I'm off out for the Thursday breakfast meetup, and back later.
Good luck everyone, it is still just a waiting game until we get some news that will allow this stock to rerate to a more realistic valuation, we know it is worth so much more!
Cheers.
Haha, morning all,
Apologies for being late reporting on deck, the ships latrine got blocked up by Septic Lil from the spicy Bhuna curry she had last night, and I had to dig out ye old Plunger to shift it!
We have NO one down for today anyway!
Let's hope the geopolitics sort themselves out without any more conflict, and the world can get back to some sort of normality.
Good luck all,
Cheers.
Good evening all,
Last year COVID was the problem to overcome, this year, it has just been compounded by geopolitics,
Just have to wait and see what plays out in this game of brinkmanship,

A day to do things other than look at shrinking share prices, it is just people reacting to what they think might happen, but it hasn't happened yet!
Nice recovery on the EUA share price from the lows of the day to end up only just over 5% down,

He didn't actually put his name down, but as we had no takers, and he did hope for a Monday RNS, he was a prime candidate to fill that void :-)
Bad luck ....
Now for some good news,
The Exhaust that I mistakenly bought from an online shop that I thought was UK based, and was in fact based in Germany, has turned up. It was delivered by Parcelforce this afternoon in a big cardboard box, so I can fit that tomorrow, weather permitting :-)
Have a lovely evening all, tomorrow is another day :-)
Cheers.
Good morning Saxonaxe and all,
I hope everyone had a good weekend,
Funny old world and how some things seem new when they aren't :-)
When was the first battery-electric car made?
Would you believe 1832! by a Scottish Inventor named Robert Anderson, Robert’s electric-powered carriage, with non-rechargeable power cells, would have certainly made a drastic change from the horse-drawn carriages of the day?
https://www.sytner.co.uk/news/history-of-electric-cars/#:~:text=The%20first%20of%20those%20things,electric%20wagon%20to%20the%20USA.
When was the first Hybrid- Electric car made?
1900: The Lohner-Porsche Elektromobil makes its debut at the Paris Exposition. Although initially a purely, designer Ferdinand Porsche soon added an internal combustion engine to recharge the battery, making it the first hybrid electric vehicle.
What was the fastest car in 1906?
Would you believe steam powered? It was the Stanley Steamer that became the fastest car in existence when a Stanley factory racer set a world speed record of over 127 mph.
Jay Leno has one, he was stopped for speeding in it :-)
https://www.barrons.com/articles/inside-jay-lenos-epic-steam-car-collection-01624391958
At the other end of the steam era are cars like Leno’s sophisticated ex-Howard Hughes 1925 E-20 Doble, which can hold its own on the highway.
Leno has called the Doble “the greatest steam car ever built”—it has around 150 horsepower, but also 1,000 foot-pounds of torque from rest.

Good luck everyone, will we get some EUA news today?
Only time will tell, haha!
Shortly :-)
Morning Aubrey,
come on now, we know you don't like EUA for some reason! but to try and compare it to a house building company?
"It appears they started the sales process too early, like trying to sell a half built house before it’s built"
Most housebuilders DO try and sell their houses before they are built, it is the way to generate some money flow by taking deposits.
If we carry on with your housebuilder's scenario EUA have virtually built a small town with all the new assets and joint ventures to come,
Yes, we all agree, it has taken longer than we all initially thought, BUT, the house prices just keep on going up :-)
One day if everything goes to plan we will all make a lovely profit out of EUA, BUT you do have to be invested :-)
Have a nice day, the sun is out even ....
All the best, Aubery,
Cheers.
Good evening all,
A disappointing Friday with no RNS to end the week! :-(

Bad luck chaps,
The world has its eye on other things at the moment, hopefully, that will not escalate into anything more than just some posturing from both sides...
Have a lovely evening and weekend break in readiness for next week,
Time for a J&T,
Cheers.
Morning Les,
"Could that have something to do with Anders recent 500k top up"
The thing to remember with Anders VERY LARGE shareholding is he was astute enough to buy in at a very early stage!
Now I'm not saying it didn't cost him more, BUT, it could quite easily be the case that yesterday's 500k shares top-up cost him more than it did than to buy his original ... 38,713,557 ... Shares!
Puts it all into perspective, get into a good stock early on and enjoy the ride!
Well played to Anders I say, a very astute investor....
Good luck to the rest of us :-)

As per (RNS Number : 4357S dated 08 July 2020) before selling a small percentage to buy himself a nice new abode (Mansion) has had a small top-up yesterday :-) of 500,000 more shares .... You can never have enough of a good thing :-)
Will we get another JORC RNS today?
Good luck everyone invested into this good stock,
Cheers.

BAD,
Oh well....
Pepsicle,
Ouch, you have to be so careful nowadays,
£65 on top of for import taxes!
You expect that from the USA, but now we are out of Europe you have to be so careful...
Take care.
Evening Caw,
Nice to know it's not just me that makes fopars :-)
The tracking company that they have given me tracking info for is called GLS! ... I have never heard of them before, it has been Deutsche Post in the past if I have ever ordered anything from Germany...
Here's hoping for a Friday RNS to make our day,
Cheers.
Good evening all,
We nearly finished the day blue,
No RNS today though, never mind always tomorrow :-)

Bad luck everyone,
I slipped up today in buying from what I thought was a UK company as it has a UK email address .... My fault!
Should have checked first before pressing that buy button!
Buycarparts.co.uk ..... is German .... The rotters .... It will turn up, but I would not have chosen to buy a car exhaust from Europe when I could have bought it with next day delivery from the UK ...
We live and learn, will remember to check next time ..... :-(
Have a lovely evening everyone,
Cheers.
Info on Nickel-Iron battery developed by Thomas Edison in 1901 :-)
Nickel–iron batteries are not new, and last years .....
"In 1901 Thomas Edison patented and commercialized NiFe in the United States and offered it as the energy source for electric vehicles, such as the Detroit Electric and Baker Electric. Edison claimed the nickel–iron design to be, "far superior to batteries using lead plates and acid" (lead–acid battery).[20] Edison had several patents: U.S. Patent 678,722/1901, U.S. Patent 692,507/1902, and German patent No 157.290/1901"
From 3 min 11 sec in Jay Leno shows off his 1901 Baker electric ........ It still has the same old battery and still works :-)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhnjMdzGusc
More modern Nickel batteries are improved versions of this old design.
"Edison was disappointed that his battery was not adopted for starting internal combustion engines, and that electric vehicles went out of production only a few years after his battery was introduced. He developed the battery to be the battery of choice for electric vehicles, which were the preferred transportation mode in the early 1900s (followed by gasoline and steam). Edison's batteries had a significantly higher energy density than the lead–acid batteries in use at the time, and could be charged in half the time; however, they performed poorly at low temperatures and were more expensive"
