Morning all, previous DDDD investor here but have recently rejoined the party. Does anyone have a view re when the LOAC merger will be? I know it was "early 2021"?

Thanks all for your comments. I thought the "add couple of zeros" CEO comment in their interview a few weeks back was awesome and very telling. Just thought I would get a feel from LSE today and will be happily staying in PAT for 2021! I don't think I have the spare reddies for GGP as well.

What do peeps think, stay here or go to GGP for a mid-term (say 6 month) hold in 2021 to end June, from today's starting point? Any musings would be of interest! How does that change if I go short term and consider only till end March, say? I'm here but not in GGP right now, just to be clear.... Rather different co's clearly, with GGP being maybe 50x PAT, but it's the risk/rise balance we're interested in isn't it....

I've been a LTH here since a earlier this year, been via the highs and lows. This AVA6000 release, as expected, is the reason why I expect AVCT to be the main driver of my PF in 2021. It's not just Covid peeps, it never has been. Positive progress with AVA6000 can potentially be a many-times multiplier, and add that to what, by say the end of Q1, will be the realisation that AVCT's covid work has been real after all, with solidifying evidence of world-class and now commercialized test, you'll be happy to have held. All IMHO of course.

Thinking about this, given the poor wrap LTFs are getting, if this 'exquisite sensistivity' we hear about is in fact, finally, going to cut the mustard with e.g. MHRA for self-use, then Boris might have needed to have a quiet chat behind the scenes to corner 100% of Avacta's output* for a few months so that UK can get back on its feet, before anyone else gets a look in. His political capital is at diving bell depth. (* Avacta production? I'm actually concerned we've not heard anything other than about BBI and maybe Omega. What about the Asian partners that were touted? Do they have to wait for a clone-able process from BBI before they can be engaged with in any way? What manufacturer is on board to produce these millions?)

Mass asymptomatic testing is unlikely to happen presently. Current government focus is concentrated testing of high(er) prevalence areas reactively.

Evidence suggests using an antigen test with 70% sensitivity and 99.5% specificity, only 29% would be true positives. However with two
tests (ie repeating a positive test with another straight after, if that too is positive), this would rise to around 98%. This is very important.

Going forwards we will certainly see much wider roll out of LFDs. We're already seeing the infrastructure for this being developed. Not just in UK. Isolation periods are also being shortened for those with a negative antigen test in some countries.

Now 3 approved LFDs appear on the government website as Healgen, Innova & SD Biosensor. No new large orders for these have been placed to fulfill the above strategy. At the same time, Alistair tells us he's procured swabs due to change of sampling method.

The reality is whilst the announced timeline hasn't been met, in no way has the demand either. We will see the test come to market and holders will be rewarded for patience.

Much of the anxiety on this BB comes from baseless 'I've heard this week is going to be...' comments. The reality is no one with 'inside' knowledge would announce it in a public forum. Ignore them, green box them or let DOH & PL at them. Whatever works for you but with a wide view of the testing landscape I'm convinced this will be a very rewarding holding. This is not even taking into account the rest of the cards in Avacta's deck.

I'm on board with a tiddly PHE investment, a bit late to the green game (i.e. missed the +50-100% jumps across the board since the 10 point plan announcement), but over a LTH horizon - end 2021, I would still expect another significant rise as everyone else joins in, so I'm adding here, IES, and will at AFC if an entry becomes available a tad lower than the last few days rise.

@Oz, really appreciate your enthusiasm, but where do you get 12p from? That's a big ask, no?

OK, @MrRealistic and @SuperRoty - I get your points, even though we are marked down another 10% today. The spread is huge though, so who wants to buy now when you're going to take an immediate hit on top of the hit the price has already taken. I'm just going to have to carry on sitting on my paper loss for the moment, I guess.

So, do we think Colin's "Christmas Present" is not going to happen (before Christmas), or did I miss it somewhere?
