Is it for SOU mate ?
Like i said those companies prepare reports for many companies not just gasol, as you will also know the majority of small aim resource companies trade on mere potential as opposed to revenues and earning per share, the key is though to spot the ones which could move from A into B,with afren and afgas holding over 70% of gasol shares i would say there is more than a fair chance that gasol will move ahead on either project during 2012. Speculative buy but one which could reward. GL
Thanks for that, i fully aware of how research reports are produced which is a general situation and not specific to gasol. I did not state the projects are funded i said the company are after recent fundraising via conv loan notes and i would guess they have enough in the coffers for at least phase one of nigeria or guinea. Out of interest what are your thoughts on this company ?
Why wednesday mate ?
Afternoon mate, edison had a 8p plus valuation on this last year i think based on nigeria so if the company is now finally moving on the project ( now funded ) there is scope for some excitement.
Yes mate, you often see a flat day after a previous days rally and also fridays always slow day on aim markets,am expecting this to bounce again next week though
morning mate, the mm,s seem to be playing with this at moment
Nice one mate, sometimes abit of bottom fishing at right price pays dividends and that old gut feeling helps. I have my eyes keenly on those you mentioned as like you i think something is cooking behind scenes :-)
Everyone invests on own instincts,in gasol we have a company that looks cheap amongst its peers and has great potential, there is not too much info around on them but whats known looks good and a big plus point for me is the massive holdings in gasol held by afren and afgas ( some 73.5% )
Youre welcome mate, i think this is one of those off the radar at moment and offers at least a good trading range and opportunity,if they have raised that cash to move on a project its game on :-)
Youre right mate, even when they moved the spread out the actual trading range was narrow. I just think at this level its a good punt and is trading at historic lows
I think it could reach those prices without news, but any news on nigeria or guinea and you can add another 1p to those easily ( IMO )
655K BUY AT FULL ASK gone through and level 2 looking like breakout on cards
The mm,s here are not holding many shares mate, they moved the spread wide earlier and now again to try and deter buyers but L2 showing 4 v 1 (its possible they had some hefty orders first thing they could not complete ) i had two sizable buy orders set above midprice that are still not filled and two actual buys this morning showing as sells.I would not be suprised to see this back over 0.60p fairly quick and poss 0.80p
Worth a glance at this snippet from RNS - OML 114 is a good play for sure "During the exclusivity period, Gasol will have an opportunity to make a proposal to Moni Pulo regarding the development of OML 114, including exploration, development and offtake. -If Moni Pulo accepts the proposal from Gasol, it is then the intention of the parties to work together to conclude definitive gas purchase agreements for development and sale of all of the gas in OML 114 to Gasol. -OML 114 is situated in shallow waters on the coast of South East Nigeria at the mouth of the Calabar River, within a locality that has a number of known gas reserves that could, subject to agreement, be used in due course to augment a Gasol project. -The licence area has been drilled and surveyed since the 1990s and has gas reserves of approximately 750 billion cubic feet 107 million barrels of oil equivalent. -Gasol has commissioned initial pre-feasibility reports which indicate that the available gas could support LNG production of over 800,000 tons per annum for 10 years or fuel a 500 MegaWatt power station for 20 years. -This agreement represents the first step in the development of the Company's new strategy and offers Gasol the important opportunity to secure a known supply of gas for monetization".
At moment this is base entry here and we could easily see this fly when volume picks up,i think they moved the spread wider to choke off the buys which were flying in but that could change any moment....and if any news on nigeria or guinea comes its hold onto your hat mate.
We could have a suprise RNS anytime here on nigeria ( imo ) i remember a while back there were a few analyst reports on gasol that valued them at a potential 9p region. Not long ago folks were buying these over 1p when the company were not funded....so that says it all and shows current level an excellent punt.
Its actually only 15% in public hands according to their website with AFREN and AFGAS holding 75% of that,it looks to me like they have been doing a quiet financial re-structure of late with a clean balance sheet and funds available for operations. I bet there will be alot of activity here soon and if nigeria news released it will move to 1.25p+ very quick ( folks were buying these at 1p not long ago )
You may be suprised how quick this will move mate, dont forget they are now fully funded and have raised that cash for a reason and nigeria looks most likely to be first to kick off. My hunch is that after nigerian govt were recently warned again about gas flaring they are encouraging operators there to move things along....someone i know who is in Afren said they attended a conference late last year where afren presented and hinted that Q1 will be a busy period.
