This will keep trucking on a downward trajectory till the sp is suspended. Talks of 3 month moratoriums on mortgages, loans etc. There will be massive defaults after 3 months so the markets are looking at this. Unless there is government intervention to the banks to prop up the economy as it tries to get back up in its feet when this crisis is over , the banks reserves will be wiped .
Agree PGee- the bottom is when the share is suspended. If we succumb to the savagery if this virus akin to our friends in Italy well it’s over imo as no body left standing g will have the capacity to repay their loans from mortgages, businesses and even the tax man. Leamyk whom I have deemed a troll on his initial assessments may not be far off his appraisal that AIB and BOI may need to merge into a national bank. It’s that’s serious folks. Save all.
Sorry to be going slightly off topic but all airlines are under serious threat. This will have massive consequences when we come out the other side of this tsunami. I’m just watching businesses fold one by one like a deck of cards. Wouldn’t be surprised if BKIR and AIB merged and every business and anything g that moves will need help to recover. This is going to be a changed world post this crisis. The old adage your health is your wealth really bellows loud now. Best wishes to all subscribers here.
All I smell nothing Torq but fear and contagion (pardon the pun). Helicopter money maybe the answer but banks are going to be wiped out unless massive backing from central banks. Business entities everywhere are on their knees from the food industry to the airlines..... there is going to be many casualties and intervention will be needed. As far as I am concerned this is a 3 month war and we need to come out the other side of it. What will happen BKIR?, no one knows but as a sole trader going forward post this unbelievable world crisis, I doubt she’ll remain paddling her own canoe . GLA
Chris you have been a super poster so far till the last deluge of codswallop. We have a serious problem on our hands and that’s not the SP slipping to €1:50 but a serious health issue that could cripple transport and services. Covid19 will be beaten but at a cost. To make light of same I have difficultly with. I deal with this issue now daily in my working life and it’s extremely concerning. Just saying. Safe all.
