RE: 7% up on TSX30 Aug 2022 11:31
I believe the following two points from last week's update have had an impact on the SP:
- delays to drilling caused by expected seasonal wet weather conditions and maintenance shutdowns at third party facilities
- full-year 2022 net operating income ("NOI" = revenue minus royalties, opex, transportation and processing) is now forecast to be approximately USD 200(1) million (based on current strip), versus previous guidance of USD 241 million, predominantly due to volatile near-term commodity pricing
Any sign of concern for PIs in updates/results, however small, will have a direct impact on the SP imo as investors look for any opportunity to not feel as confident as perhaps they were and potentially sell stock as a result. Given economic conditions, I believe PIs will remain jittery and will look at any opportunity to take cash off the table and small caps do tend to take the hit in these difficult conditions.
