Hi Num4 - regarding the value of our SKIL platform, without knowing its full capabilities, it may only have a modest value when looking at the company as a whole. I stumbled upon the following links which may be of interest. I'm not a doctor so I have no idea if they are likely to provide better or worse info compared to SKIL.

The above link also contains a link to free software, "...we develop the cross-platform software, KDS (Kinase Drug Selectivity), for customized visualization and analysis of the binary networks in the human kinome (https://github.com/CBIIT/KDS)." It uses a real-time 3D engine for interactively visualizing the binary networks in the kinase pockets and the user interface system to present the related information in the binary networks. All sounds pretty nifty.

So it might be a case of it's not the tool you have access to, it's more about the idea and how you bring it to fruition.

If there's scope for 1801 to treat Psoriasis, RA, Iupus, IBD and MS etc. could it also have a role in the treatment of psychosis?

Hi Potnak - not sure I fully agree with your theory. China probably views Australia in the same way it views anywhere outside its own borders. Whilst we've had dealings there previously and links to Chinese pre-clinical studies with 737 have been posted here, geographic proximity is probably a minor factor in global pharmaceuticals.

Oz was probably chosen as we have a common language, they have 200 ethics commitees to choose from and Australia has the highest percentage of population with psoriasis. Therefore no translation required before submitting an application, an efficient administation and plenty of people wandering about with itchy, flaky skin.

Re the Edison report, who is the target audience? Certainly not the inhabitants of web forums so perhaps we need to consider other groups e.g. HNW types and their advisors. I forget what the current HNW options are (£3+?) so we may have a scenario where if a 737 deal doesn't appear before the cash runs low (and the sp isn't high enough to trigger the options), we then tug the sleeve of a few more HNWs.

However I'd hope a 737 deal to be announced by August/Sept - data was handed back in March, a number of interested parties, whittle out the chancers, haggle a bit, lawyers etc, 5 or 6mths to reach some sort of agreement doesn't seem unreasonable.

Hi Warthog - I agree and I also wouldn't be surprised if whoever read my e-mails at both companies told their managers that they discovered the issues rather than some random punter.

Until fairly recently Edison were showing the sp at a pre-consolidation level. I e-mailed them and they corrected things overnight although I got no thanks from them for pointing out their error. Same when I contacted our new web monkey to tell them there was an error on the new site - it got corrected but they didn't acknowledge my e-mail either.

Silver - I don't think our IR person will give any opinion on the report though they might say they've passed your comment on to the BoD.

Also worth a quick read is the link below. Although it's a technical piece, most here should be able to get the gist. If anyone has ever wondered what a statement like 'a selectivity of 1350' (or whatever) means in layman terms, "Selectivity is useful in clinical practice only when the ratio of the impact of the drug at the two receptor sites is 100 or more. When selectivity is lower, it is difficult to predict drug doses that will exploit the difference in subtype activity."

So the difference is we are now starting the race that they have retired from.

Even if they were still in the game regarding psoriasis, it may prove to be that we are more selective i.e. 1801 can reach the target with greater precision (brepocitinib also takes a catalytic approach rather than allosteric). Our P1 trial will show if we have a better tox profile. The additional consideration is cost - assuming both compounds reached the market, would one be significantly cheaper than the other?

The Aussies have around 200 ethics committees whereas the UK, as far as I'm aware, has 1.

The issue (and I've seen this first hand), is that the govt. here demand cutbacks in spending and that leads to office closures and the centralisation of work in a single location. So you end up losing expertise dotted around the country and are left with new inexperienced staff in one large office. I could give many examples of this but I can already feel my blood starting to boil so I'll leave it there.

If there's one thing the UK still does exceptionally well, it's science. Two middle-aged blokes in a shed can still change the world for the better. By keeping staff numbers to a minimum and outsourcing work, SAR are able to pick and choose the best teams to enable them to succeed. I think it'd be a different story if we'd had 15 staff who were good but not necessarily great - that sort of business plan burns through money like no tomorrow and there are plenty AIM companies to prove that.

Whichever companies are looking at 737 might also be looking at who is behind it. I just hope the BoD don't sell themselves short as getting 1802 into P1 trials alongside 1801 would significantly increase our value. For the sake of maybe 12mths, I'd hope the BoD can rebuff lowball offers if a takeover is in the air.

AndOnThisDay - sorry to hear about that. It's all a gamble to some extent and paper losses hurt for a while. If you've done your homework and the company is on firm ground then you just have to tell yourself that things will turn round eventually.

Hi Num4 - I'd hope we don't need additional funding via our HNW chums as a 737 deal could provide sufficient money to see us a long way. The BoD just have to sit tight and ignore 1801 offers until we have initial results and at that point the real value will be known.
