Evening Krone et al - the more I dig into things, the more frustrating it gets. The link below is for a research paper where investigators aim to predict if potential Chk-1 inhibitors could be found in the plant species Momordica charantia Linn. Riveting stuff, eh? Anyway, the bit that caught my eye was that to measure efficacy they obviously need some sort of yardstick. Step forward 737:-

So we're at a point where 737 is a 'standard' reference drug and yet it has remained effectively shelved for unknown reasons.

If you don't want to spend the rest of the day grinding your teeth, don't look into any articles on Big Pharma deliberately stalling the development of promising drugs.

Hi SOG - I haven't looked at the other site in years. From memory it was industrial scale trolling punctuated by Danny claiming Parker had been planted on our BoD by GSK.

Anyway, on the subject of patents, yes, I agree that there is a big difference between composition and structure. I've previously mentioned that the molecule that gives oranges their flavour is identical in composition but structurally a mirror image of the molecule that gives lemons their flavour; much like comparing a left and right-threaded screws.

As the link that Krone posted shows, the patent was granted on 8th Jan 2025 so the BoD have had ample time (even with the JPM event since then) to release an RNS if they thought it was warranted. My guess is the Sept. announcement is 'priced in' so little impact would be had from another. That said, I'm expecting an RNS before the end of the month with an update on initiation of the next tox trials and would think they'd add a footnote saying the patent has been granted.

For all we know the BoD are busy with ensuring the tox lab has enough 1801 for the trial, corresponding with interested parties and considering what may be done with 737. So a patent grant RNS might be low on their current agenda.

Hi Krone, this relates back to the RNS issued at the start of Sept. (see below) so not sure if they'll bother with official confirmation since it's more or less a given that once intention to grant was issued, it's just a paper exercise to sign things off. With 1801 patented in US/EU/Japan & China our quest for world domination is nearing completion.

Hi BoilB - I think that's maybe just a reference to the 2 trials completed years ago by Sierra rather than an indication of new trials. That file is dated 2/1/2025 so not sure if your '2/5/2025' is a typo or you've seen something additional.

Hi PCS - 737 is shown on the Pipeline page of that link but only as P1. As Sierra completed two P1/2 studies perhaps the mystery US-bio had informed CRH they intended a new P1 trial. I guess we'll never know now.

Hi Meg - you're probably right but the bit I'm clinging onto is it suggests an either/or situation and it's whichever one comes first. No commercial deal so the 12mths was the first trigger.

Probably pretty irrelevant now but hey-ho.

If I were Parker I'd say to CPF that we'll buy full rights to 737 for £1 then put the whole company up for sale once the 1801 tox data is fully done.

Just a minor point but under the terms of the license agreement I wonder if the US-bio will still have to pay the 12mth milestones since they effectively have 737 for another 3mths.

If the company knew they'd be handing 737 back they would have been better to terminate the deal in September in order to avoid the 12mth trigger point.

Hi Greek - a formal takeover offer has to be announced to shareholders but an informal offer does not. The directors will recommend shareholders accept or reject a formal offer. It doesn't matter how many shares you hold, you can still vote but each of your shares is effectively a single vote so if you have 10,000 shares, that's equal to 10,000 votes.

Morning SOG - we'll never know the whole story but Niccolo Machiavelli is clearly alive and well in the world of big pharma. Does GSK have 737 under wraps at some bio 'skunk works' in the US? I don't think so but hopefully the BoD will be able to announce who has it very shortly.

Yes SOG, the more you venture down the rabbit hole the more I think that if SAR have indeed cracked the tox risks, the greater our value even without efficacy in psoriasis patient data. As you've said before, we appear to maybe have just the right balance of TYK2/JAK1 and the further tox studies will underline our superiority over earlier drugs.

First in class may only mean you create revenue earlier than competitors but best in class means you are the drug of choice from a patient's standpoint. Though the video link I posted yesterday would suggest the patient doesn't always get what they need or want.

If 1801 results are better than Tim hoped for then 2025 could be a good year for shareholders.
