Yeah Seawolf, SP should increase but very hard to predict with any accuracy. Despite the recent institution appearing to dump half their shares the other week, shares were really hard to come by yesterday. Still undervalued so I'd imagine we might see higher than 21p as people scramble to add ahead of news. Certainly seems the large players are accumulating.

Yesterday was bleedin' frustrating. I had planned on waiting 'til Monday to buy directly into my ISA but then thought might as well avoid the bunfight and try to pick up £20k at around 13.5-14p. Finally averaged out at 18.1p only to then see the big fall off. Had thought it might plateau for the rest of the day at about 19p but no. Ah well, Bed & ISA first thing Monday.

Still, could be worse, I could have a hard drive full of bitcoin lying in a landfill site somewhere.

Hi Celtic - as far as I know permission isn't required if it's preclinical work in the lab. A clinical trial in people is another matter entirely.

Evening PCS - thanks, good to know the collective research gets passed on to the BoD. I quite enjoy poking around for info; curiosity helps keep my mind and investigational skills ticking over.

And to the mystery runner - thank you for your efforts. I hope the BoD recognise a number of investors actively keep abreast of developments in the pharma world so when (or if) the time comes, we won't be sold down the river. (Bit of a hollow threat that last bit but there you go...)

Hi Krone - my only concern re the various research papers that we post about is I'm not sure the BoD are aware of them all. I vaguely recall a question to them a few years ago about some particular paper and they said there's obviously no obligation on the part of the research group to directly inform the drug inventor/owner of whatever work has been carried out.

Now that the 737 ball is in our court, I hope SP is fully armed with knowledge of all the potential areas for treatment as evidenced by researchers across the globe.

Just to counter FG's view, Sareum are funded for around 18mths and the link below suggests Big Pharma has billions in hand for acquiring and developing new drugs. If we get some sort of 737 deal then who knows where things may lead.

Hi Meg - just sharing the knowledge. The added benefit to publishing the trial results is it'll prevent others trying to patent anything to do with 1801 unless they have some utterly unique angle on it.

Hi LJ - I think John Reader indicated the paper was almost complete but he wanted to ensure all patents were in place first as, once published, it'll have a knock-on effect re those patents:

Publishing drug trial results before filing a patent application can potentially invalidate the patent. This is due to fundamental principles of patent law regarding prior art, novelty and public disclosure. Patents must be new inventions and prior public disclosure can destroy novelty therefore publication counts as public disclosure. Bit of a tightrope to walk here!

Prior art refers to any information that was publicly available before a patent application was filed. This is fundamental to patent law and plays a major role in determining whether an invention is truly novel and worthy of patent protection.

Also one of the key reasons for publishing is that it provides independent verification of findings. If you paid for a trial and declared everything is peachy then who's to say you didn't just cherry-pick the results? Independent verification adds value especially if carried out by respected peers in a respected journal.

Although some complain about the salary bill at SAR HQ, I think JR earns his money. The amount of knowledge he must have rattling around his brain is crazy.

Hi Krone/SOG - the fly in the 737 IND ointment is that an IND can be given an 'inactive status' after remaining on clinical hold for 1 year or longer. The question therefore is when did the IND get approval?

If the IND becomes inactive there are a few hurdles to overcome in order to get it back up and running - new safety assessments become necessary due to the extended pause, all protocols must be updated to reflect current standards & practices and manufacturing processes & facilities may require revalidation.

SP better get his skates on.

Hi Ben - of course there are financial rewards for being first to market but that doesn't prevent those who come after reaping great reward too. As the recent slide presentation notes, 1801 has strong evidence to support efficacy in psoriasis, lupus, IBD, RA and other autoimmune diseases. It's not a one-trick pony (as we all know) and we've got patents to back it up. Some drugs work brilliantly for some patients but not for others. If 1801 gets through the tox trials then I'm sure it'll find a market in the years ahead.
