Yeah decided to not got tempted and leave it in, as that was the plan for the free ones for the potential big rerate

That is correct

on every dividend the SP drops by the amount given in the dividend

in most cases people do not really notice it over a longer term investment - but in this case it is very large - and that is exactly why they did the consolidation to give the appearance of share price being roughly the same

if consolidation was not done the SP would now be showing as approx 105p

Quirk due to the consolidation, refreshed my charts and moving now

as expected dividend in one hand and SP loss in the other so no actual profit overall

SP needs to rise to get anything

And due to trading 212 actually allowing fractional shares I have not had any of mine go to charity

It is interesting and have seen it a few times myself. Hard to see really as it's not an everyday occurrence. Guess it would require checking through the RNS list in the morning to find a broker change and monitor it.

Maybe has something to do with MM's working for the new broker needing to grab shares asap? That kicks of the rise and people start buying in / autotrade algorithms purely because it has risen?

the old MM's probably do not dump the shares in one go as that could potentially cause a crash and put a company at risk - so maybe they sell them more slowly over the next days/weeks

(500 / 70) * 33 = 235.71 the 0.71 will go to charity

You only lose fractions of share not anything which does not match up exactly to a multiple of 70. So take your number of shares, divide by 70 and then multiply by 33

so if you have 70 shares (70 / 70) * 33 = 33 new shares

if you had 69 shares (69/70 ) * 33 = 32.53 shares - so you get 32 shares and the 0.53 they add to everybody else's and give it to charity

but diamonds from the marange area are not worth as much as people are spouting on the board and also less than that article. There was a guy on board who claims to deal with diamonds regularly and he sounded very plausible when he was stating $90 per carat

plus from wikipedia:

While some diamond mines produce rough valued at over $1000 per carat, average production at Marange is estimated at under $50 per carat

I imagine that you will be paid for them, presumably at todays market close price. They would not just be lost.

back in 2010 they were examined and estimated to be $18mill

you are looking at $90 per carat

Cne is a bit weird

SP should fall by 50 % to match the dividend payment, so you gain on one and and lose on the other and then have to hope it does rise back up a bit to actually get some overall profit

they are doing the consolidation in an attempt to make the SP look stable, so it falls by half but then consolidates to look pretty much the same SP ( but now with much fewer shares in circulation )

will be interesting to see how it pans out🤔

once these diamonds are back - estimated to be worth £15m, that will be enough to pay off their debts

it also leads the way into starting the diamond mine operation to be running again

I find it hard to trust the company as multiple placings over the years - but 'if' it does finally turn around......

hence why I am only willing to leave in those 'free' shares for longer term investment
