Reading the clarity posts - many good points and theories but no one knows.
The one thing that could change all of this, is the price of gold. I’ve been listening to Rick Rule and his like for the best part of four years now waxing lyrical how gold will take off or at least hold its mean against fiat currencies. …….It hasn’t happened yet.
If, and it is a if, the spot price goes north of 2500 up to 3000 US$ the heavy lifting in GGP share price will happen independently of what happens with either Newmont or Wyloo.
So potentially what they could have is a turnkey project with GGP management in place to run it on their behalf but with 70% of the profits
I was unable to attend the TH meeting but have had a few coms with people that did. It prompted me to check whether Newmont are into JV’s. This from their website.
Newmont assets are comprised of established gold and copper operations, value-accretive growth projects and a world-class exploration portfolio spanning five continents.

This is their latest video. For those with an attention to detail deficit problem, Greatland gets a mention in the first 5 minutes and Trav is blown away with the PI’s passion for a Australian company. Also Liam’s invitation for a joint collaboration is on the cards.

In reference to Grant Samuel’s Telfer/Havieron combined valuation. Rick Rule states that the purpose of M&A activity is to save money by reducing staff and overhead costs.
New management (whoever that will be) will look at the headcount and efficiency of the operation. Certainly 1500 staff for what was a 22million ton per annum 2 train processing facility will not be needed for Havieron’s 3 million tons per annum.
As the Telfer open pit is exhausted and underground grades dip below 0.5 would they maintain or shut the Telfer side down completely? If they did, the blending with Havieron ore wouldn’t be needed. The AISC for processing Havieron ore alone could be reduced dramatically. McMahon employs hundreds at Telfer surface operations. I believe Ausdrill provide Telfer underground assays for targeting the highest of the now low grade material. All this could be negated.
Otto Richter group mining engineer and Simon Tyrrell chief operating officer (both ex NCM) are well placed to identify savings and implement change.
At the time SD appointed the guys I was scratching my head as to why, when we had no cash flow and NCM already had people that could do this?
Could it be feasible to only use Telfer for its processing capacity and shelve open pit and underground operations?
Possibly the $680 AISC could be reduced further?
Just a thought- I know nothing about mining.
Quite a few inaccuracies there. Said 3.2 Au equivalent when it’s 6.5. Failed to mention athirdvMRE updat coming out December 2023 etc etc. Said GGP were financially strained and no mention made of the $200m support from the Australian Banks
Shaun’s Beaver Creek presentation. It would appear some of you may not of seen it regards some of the questions posted on this BB.

“We are proud to continue our support of Greatland through this loan facility. Havieron is an outstanding orebody that we are KEEN TO SEEN DEVELOPED TO ITS FULL POTENTIAL and we see tremendous exploration potential in the Paterson range as an emerging mineral belt,” said Wyloo Metals CEO Luca Giacovazzi.

“ further strengthening our position in Australia with the acquisition of Newcrest, creating a company that will set the clear standard for safe, world-class portfolio of top-tier operations – three of which will be here in Australia”

Newcrest Mining has completed electric vehicle studies for its Cadia and @GreatlandGold #Havieron goldmining operations, and begun a hybrid haul dump loader trial as a potential transition technology.

This is a photograph of one of the evaporation ponds at Havieron taken recently and I can assure you is still being worked today. In difference with some of the negative posters here I believe that IF Newmont were to ditch Havieron then the board have enough knowledge and connections with the major Australian banks, and of course Wyloo to see this through to production. The likes of Shaun Day, Mark Barnaba, Elizabeth Gaines, Jimmy Wilson, Paul Hallam, Luca Giacovazzi and Twiggy Forest all have track records that are second to none. Of course DYOR. Incidentally for those that see people dancing but can’t or don’t want to here the music…..what’s your reasoning for being here?

Could be that Shaun has been shuddering at the FUD frequenting this BB. Certainly some could do with their mouth’s being washed with carbolic soap.
The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated joint venture with Greatland Gold and forms a key focus of Newcrest’s growth strategy in the Paterson

Tremendous to have the #GreatlandGold geological team in the field on the Panorama licence. The tenement is considered by #GreatlandGold to be highly prospective for #gold, #nickel and #cobalt combined with some inspirational scenery

@ Toffers I’m not getting into the FUD that you seem to enjoy but I can tell you that I have been buying GGP the last month to average down and all but two transactions were shown as sells here. The most recent was a buy 270000 @ 6.67.
“We think Havieron-Telfer is in a Tier-1 jurisdiction, high quality, good grade ore body. We think Newmont understands and sees the attraction of it,” Greatland MD Shaun Day said on the sidelines of the Diggers and Dealers forum in Kalgoorlie this week.
“Equally if there is opportunity, we hold a last right of refusal.

Great team work Dip666. Once upon a time you’d get this type of research and the poster on this board.
I think the “high plant utilisation” refers to Telfers unquenchable thirst for 22 million tons of ore per annum and not some of the plants on the lse BB.
“This permanent role will assist with reactive and preventative maintenance for ore-processing plant to ensure maximum efficiency of equipment and high plant utilisation”

And I suspect no one listened to the end 1:02:44
I recommend watching this from 24:51 because it’s very informative of the Australia M&A scene. If you haven’t the time skip to 44:00 for @GreatlandGold #Havieron #Telfer #NCM & Evolution Mining conjecture
Be so kind to give them a thumbs up.

Posted a few hours ago - Positions are stated to be at Telfer and could be coincidental to my earlier post looking for a Havieron Water Manager. If it’s not a coincidence then apart from the aquifer issues it’s all looking positive for the intent of finishing the decline asap.
