Yep I'm ready. What do you make of the new dividend policy? If I've got it right the start point for the next five years dividends is this years figure which is 37.7p plus "not less" than RPI. Office of National Statistics seem to have ceased publishing RPI and there is talk of another measure replacing it. However you could read it that it could be more than RPI although there is some cap I beleive by OFWAT. In any event anyone eyeing us up will nowhave all the figures available to make a decision. Interesting times. That £12 that was mentioned would be nice! GLA

Usual suspects...Canadian Pension funds, Quataris etc.. OFWAT final ruling expected 12.2.14 so don't think anyone will bid till the next 5yr pricing round is finalised. Suggested £12 per share bid might be a bit low. Watch this space.

Encouraging to see new board member with regulator experience. Ofwat preliminary release seems to show gap closing on allowed charges and expenditure although on first reading it appears the reductions will be front end loaded in the first year and then level thereafter. Anyone done any calculations of what that means to the bottom line compared to the original proposal? Note Deutshe are confident with a target today.GLA

Solid performance backed by dividend commitment. Once the minor changes are accepted by OFWAT on 29/8 we should be in a good position for the next 5 yrs. Wonder if anyone's watching?GLA

Very good steady progress. From the release it seems the OFWAT negotiations are progressing well. Any predators will be running the slide rule over with interest I would think.GLA

General fear of UKRAIN problems seem to have pulled market back today but my previous note still holds. We are now in a much stronger position in the gas turbine maintenance field and have the added advantage of the Rolls Royce add on. We seem to have also kept the WG/RR combination as a separate ntity. Notice also that Centrica are talking today of getting rid of three gas turbine power stations. We could take those over. A big future in my opinion. Especially with only 2% margin in the power supply. GL

So Siemens have bought Rolls Royce gas turbine and power division which will combine with their own business to produce a rival to GE. Add to this as I understand it WOOD GROUP are now in a J/V at 51% WG with Siemens in this expanded venture. Looks a very good deal. Any thoughts?GLA
