I think their legal team have finally convinced them it was an incorrect meeting and they will either set up a new one (more delay would suit some of them) or take it to full council. My guess is they won't want to show the incompetents again so will go to full council and do a hand washing job ( I told them no but they wouldn't listen). Either way we win IMHO

We don't know yet whether it's commercial or not which is why we are EWT. We don't know the % of water nor if it is constant or a pool draining off. Amounts will be logged during EWT and I would hope the locations identified. If the leak is down near the toe then further plugging might resolve it. Perhaps they might use the existing well and sidetrack tubing to re-bore part of the sidetrack to avoid the problem area. These drills are highly manouverable. An update on decision is vital for confidence to remain in my opinion. How many tankers returned from Hamble. What is the maximum % of water allowed. There is I believe no separator where the tankers go to so above limit comes back for re-separation on site. Problems exist to be solved. I feel we still have a very good chance of a successful outcome. GLA

Making it a water injection well was one of three possibilities. I presume current shut in for pressure test will also give any variation in water content. Its an ongoing test, IF they were to use it as an injection well it would save the cost of drilling a fresh one for that purpose and the future one earmarked for that could then be drilled as a new well. GLA

The original RNS information was quite clear that the toe end water problem had been solved. Such problems are a known hazard in oil exploration drilling. The problem will be resolved but I feel the recent RNS was not clear enough with regard to how much % is water and what exact options are being considered. The wording was far too much of a generalisation given previous optimistic RNSs and this should be followed with up to date detail and ongoing information. No doubt they are hoping the flow will reduce or dry up and are testing for possible flow amounts or reservoir size and will take appropriate action. Thus the three options spoken of. The future requires more openness and communication with us. We accept setbacks but I have still good faith in the eventual outcome. GLA

If they were to take the option of using it for water reinjection it would save the cost of one of the other site proposed wells which would have been for that purpose. The council meeting will be nullified or reversed very quickly IMHO and the gas exploratory well will I recall take a very short period (6 to 8 weeks?). These are not the major setbacks some would have us believe. GLA

Perhaps UKOG could go to the civil route and have the vote declared illegal through incorrect procedure and set aside then to the relevant minister who could call it in?

THE LEGAL REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION FOR THE REASONS FOR REFUSAL AFTER THE VOTE could leave the councillors paying for some of the costs themselves if the meeting is shown to be incorrectly run, particularly the final voting fiasco. If as suggested earlier the tanker was in fact retuning oil from Perrenco due to too much water content then the only loss when the excess is extracted and the remainder sent back is the cost of transport back and to Humble and the number of barrels of water removed. The returned oil will just add to profit. Desperate attempts to panic some gullible investors I would think. GLA
