The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Worth leaving a buy order at a shade over Lombards buy price...say at 0.45?
Hopefully shouldn't fall below that short term at least.
H
Last 3 sell of the day @666 . Doesn't bode well!
H
showing 1m shares bid @0.6 and nothing after that?
Are the MMs doing a stop loss raid again?
A person with much more experience in such matters has answered my question of last week. More often than not the shareholders of the listed shell(ie in this case Motif) are invariably rewarded when the shell is reversed into by the acquiring private company so the chances of being the victim of "foul play" IF there is an RTO are low.
H
I think the warrant exercise at 0.68 has spooked people. Hopefully at least that sets a bottom price.
H
I do suspect that IF no positive news is released in the next few days on the balance of probability there will be some downward pressure on the sp mainly because of the 0.68 warrants exercised last week and the temptation for those warrant holders to take a quick profit in these uncertain times. However that is only IF no news is forthcoming.
Regarding my post yesterday I think the general consensus is that a reverse takeover doesn't guarantee anything for current shareholders of Motif but on balance it should be good news as long as we don't get shaf ted by the current Board.
H
So does this mean that even if there is an RTO there is no guarantee that shareholders of Motif will get any benefit and could actually lose out substantially? Would the worst case scenario be that the recent £650k investor via the discounted placing only have done so on the back of an agreement with a private company which is about to reverse into Motif so that he will be rewarded for his stake in Motif but all of us other shareholders will be frozen out and left holding valueless shares in MTFB? Comments from anyone with past experience of holding shares in a listed company which is reversed into by a private company would be much appreciated.
H
With potential big news around the corner were at peak danger time of MM games in particular a flash crash to hit stop losses. Anyone with stops may wish to bear in mind
H
I was given what has proved to be pretty accurate trading advice many years ago by someone far more experienced than me in such matters.
Where a share is "in play"such as MTFB and it has a significant rise one day (such as today) if you do sell, look at buying back 3 working days later as often ,and assuming of course there is no major news in the intervening period, the sp will drop back during that 3 day period and then bounce from that low after 3 days. It sounds a crude trading technique but its surprisingly solid!
H
I had assumed they were a T20 rollover being timed at 16.48 and 16.49 but note they are at an identical price which of course means they cant be a rollover and are both buys.
Someone is very confident!
H
In the words of JJ"here we go 2,3,4"
You need to be of a certain age to get it!
H
The issue here is that its not that simple. You need to factor in the fact that its a cash shell not only with cash but with a market listing and in this specific sector.
Professional fees and listing costs/savings alone are "worth" £millions to a third party
H
Exactly..So whatever historical position any iis may have had in the past are totally irrelevant now .We now have a cash rich company in an entirely different position
Bobby where did you read that please? I cant see any TR1 announcement
Even mystic Meg would have seen that coming! Well done to anyone who bought on the cheap during play time
