So mixed feelings about the new direction, my personal feeling and reason for making an entry under £3, a solid giant of a company with a commitment to maintain a dividend, streamlining of oil assets in order to maintain profitability (low hanging fruit) drive to cash in the future of energy, carbon capture, renewables energy storage? Bp just became a growth company. All good for me.

Alan' or any other experienced investors here could you kindly explain what the 0.75% (percentage means) in terms of the shorting position? i.e does it mean they have "borrowed" 0.75% of the total share capital? I am new to this area any insight would be greatly appreciated.

some may already know this, but either way I found it fascinating:
Damascus steel:- When the Crusaders took up arms against the Saracens 1,000 years ago, they found their huge, heavy broadswords were no match for the curved sabers of the defenders. The swords and armour were made from Damascus steel. Small amounts of Vanadium made this alloy very hard so it stayed sharp, in later Crusades, European soldiers used similar weapons.

Fusion reactors: Vanadium is being used in toroidal fusion reactors, the metal is being used because it does not expand or wrap much , even when very hot.

Fascinating :-)
