If next Tuesday is the last/latest deadline then I’d have expected some sort of movement on this, yet another pre-weekend Friday. But it ended up another nothing type of day. Usually you can sense the odd large insider dealing at least one way or the other.

FOMO has been kicking in for over a month now ever since spud has been expected - but ONLY by relatively smaller retail investors. The institutional players will only buy in after spud - and now even I can see for obvious reasons.

Your link is an excellent read Jezzac and tbh most people will not previously have had the foggiest about the subtle differences outlined. Clearly many brokers are or can also be mm’s dependent on the limits of their make up.

One thing I can definitely say is that there is no better way to be “in the system” then by having a broker yourself. Usually have an application process and certain criteria must be made ie to be a “ sophisticated “ investor; to understand risks etc
You also get better and earlier access to so much eg ipo opportunities or placings. In fact you actually also sometimes get “ insider” information for which you must sign a declaration not to abuse that info etc

But my very best advice us not just to have a broker, but to then strike up a healthy relationship with them ( usually a specified high level person). That way you do often get extra insights eg what the brokers are looking out for compared to retailers and so on

Personally I’m with a broker but I also through my various accounts do my own executions.
