As far as Novacyt is concerned they may have already been given the nod at some point (although promises seem to mean nothing) in order to be so confident to say 'significant revenues' in an RNS, when they are usually so conservative, and to put on their timeline (from 23rd April Tweet) Target: initial production 1 million tests per week.

Again, great to see we've pretty much held yesterday's 10% rise. The pressure is mounting, this is soon going to blow, just waiting for the trigger.

Sorry, that was my reply to Brentwood on the subject - here is the main point I made in response to Blackbird's tweet on the transfer of shares from the Bourse to AIM:

I agree this is good news in the long term, but I can see how the change from Euro to sterling may have spooked French investors. If you were holding a share and felt it was going to move off the exchange you had access to what would you be thinking? And if 50% of holders feel ostracised in this way, that cannot be helping the SP.

The chairman was careful in his wording - leaving all options open:

"The Company is listed on two stock exchanges: Euronext Growth Paris
and AIM London. As such, the Board remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency,
ethics and corporate governance, whilst also providing leadership, controls and
strategic oversight to ensure that we deliver value to all our stakeholders."

It's OK to have a transfer from one exchange to the other and this may certainly be good long term, but for every Frenchman (or woman) selling we need someone buying on AIM - any difference in numbers buying/selling will see a price fall/rise.

@ Blue light - this is what I said in my post of 1st July on the subject of Fench selling - it's not all positive:

We have a lot of talk of the shorters being on the French side, but we have had nothing but downward pressure since the RNS alerting us to the change from Euro to Sterling and this could help explain why we are so far down (i.e far more than the dispute would warrant). The French are selling as they think wer are moving away from the Bourse and we are not buying as it always looks like the bottom hasn't quite arrived. Many are also waiting on the side-lines for the dispute to be resolved. I have no doubt that a few shorters are also playing on this sentiment exacerbating the situation further. So a perfect short-term storm has inadvertently been created - but fundamentals, as all have been saying, will eventually win out.

It is like trying to push a float underwater - at some point it is going to resurface at speed.

@Exmex, thank you too. £500m is not small fry, but not as bad as it could be. I asked my wife to photograph the packaging. On the front it has the Orient Gene logo - but on the reverse says:

So it's interesting that you say they are supplied through US Tanner Pharma - when the packaging implies a German connection - the plot thickens, it's all smoke and mirrors, I'm sure - deliberately making things opaque. However, the UK Gov know the spotlight is turning onto this so, hopefully, UK diagnostics will start to get its fair share of sales and we are just in time with our LFT.

The FT article is from November so, it's strange we have no information since on value purchased/being purchased. Let's hope it's not anywhere near £3bn and that these were also historic purchases.

Has anyone seen anything regarding how much was eventually awarded for Orient tests? This was from FT in November - no specified contract amount:

"The government has also spent an unspecified sum on lateral flow tests produced by the Chinese company Zhejiang Orient Gene and the South Korean company SD Biosensor, though it has not released public contracts for either of these."

At my wife's school (Independent sector but still supplied LFTs by UK Gov free of charge), she was shown a huge box of Orient tests that she was told they were using once the Innova tests have run out. So, not only do we have to get through all the Innova tests piled everywhere, but these too. I wonder how much government money has been put into Orient and Bionsenor?

I'm not sure why the SP continues to procrastinate. This is a sound, sensible medium to long-term investment.

Since the above news I have only had positive vibes abut building. In Norfolk properties are going up everywhere and the main issue here (and repeated by a property friend of in Gloucestershire) is the shortage of supplies and continuously rising prices of building materials.

This is definitely going only one way in the long term - it puzzles me as to why the continual small retraces/drops. This was 240 not that long ago. Have I missed anything?

Hanvey talks about the fact that he agrees that accurate surveillance is really important and goes on to say that in March Lord Bethell had promised in a tweet that Omega Diagnostics and Mologic would be in line for an order of 2m LFT per day by the end of May, promising jobs and security.

So, the cats finally out of the bag - £3bn wasted on discredited Chinese imports. Hopefully this will now be picked up by the main media (so far most refences have been to a Californian supplier). Perhaps there was a legitimate reason, perhaps the UK diagnostics were not ready to supply? Whatever, the government is going to be on the back foot now and will need to be seen to be finally doing the right thing and ordering British made tests. Looks like our LFT was released just in time!

Nice to see the rise toady. This could finally be our inflection point.

Although I consider my perspective long-term, I'm not waiting for 2056 before cashing out though - Lol

@Kaeren - I completely agree - it may be a tragedy as far as society and individuals are concerned, but my post is not about the politics - in fact, I'd goas far as to say, what ever the political decisions, we are in a win-win with this company.

Either way - whether they are chaotic and incompetent in their approach or they put in a well considered system, in the end it doesn't make much difference to this share. The way it is going they will allow travel but require private testing to do so, then as, infections soar they will need more tests. The other way (i.e. a competent test and trace & isolate) requires testing throughout - so what ever happens, test will be needed. And, the same goes with the dispute - the DHSC can scream and shout as much as they like - but in the end a contract is a contract and we delivered. GM knows it. It will just take time to all pan out - so patience required... tick tock as you say

I have again written to GB News as this also suits their anti-China narrative that Nigel Farrage (a frequent contributor) is currently pursing.

I agree with you, it's also a good idea to involve our colleagues on the other Boards (you mention AVCT, ODX etc.) and twitter/telegram as this is about promising to support the emerging UK diagnostics industry and then selling out to China whilst trying to shaft us (GM is not going to let this happen!).

These companies are nimble and pioneers that have brought out some fantastic products this year - the UK government should be promoting and showcasing them - why are they not?

This purchase says two things to me:

1. A senior board member has confidence in the SP moving North in the long term.

2. The forecasts for H1 2021 of approx £50m are going to come in on the nose. (So, no insider info can be claimed.) I've repeatedly said Q2 will be subdued, as we move from public to private sector. Q3 andQ4 will be the exciting ones, as travel resumes in the summer, case rates rocket, and the NHS wants us back this autumn-winter. [I'm not sure their Promate supplies are going to last as long as they think.]

PS - I'm not sure why anyone would think these (or the previous) shares were awarded under the LTIP. These were quite separate cash payments and are broken down into three tranches and are accounted for this year and the following two years.

plus the mobile units are keeping their LFTs on ice when they are meant to be done at room temp. It's not just our Gov making crazy decisions on test procurement.

There are no short cuts. It's a false economy. More regulation and accuracy coming - Novacyt tests will win out long term.

I know, John. I've got a huge pile of them (almost enough to built a small hill, if not a mountain) and I'm not letting anyone have any of mine until they're well into double figures - say around £15 before I would even consider top slicing ...

@ Temuchin, I agree with Johnpohn - this has been accounted for. We have to be careful not to double account income. The money you refer to, I believe, is directly attributed to Q1 2021 and has not yet been received.

From the financial review section of the report:

"In addition, after the year end, a further £49.0 million of product delivered and invoiced to the DHSC in 2021 remains unpaid and is now also part of the dispute. The unpaid invoices total £73.0 million and include VAT. "

To me that's fairly clear cut, but I too would be delighted if I were wrong and another 40m odd still to come on top.

PS: Something also previously mentioned but not highlighted much - have you noticed the inventory figures? For the size of turnover to have nearly 30m in stock gives us considerable slack. I calculate on an 80% margin that we could sell 150m worth of goods at no material cost before that lot was used up!
