So, if I've got my maths right, 14,000 oz @£2,153/oz = $30.4m costs/qtr. Revenue of $18.8m means a loss of $11.6m. That $6m in the bank isn't going to last long..... If I remember the design capacity is 30,000 oz/Qtr. This would give costs of around $1,000/ oz, and a profit. But it looks like we are way off that point at the moment.

I tried to buy, but my broker advised they were not participating. It was vague whether that was because they hadn't been given the option, or whether it was too difficult and outside the usual channels so they couldn't be bothered.

The old saying is that 'if you owe the bank a million, you have a problem; if you owe the bank 100million, the bank has a problem'. If the lenders call in the debt, the chances are the company goes bust and they get less than if they let it live and pay interest.

Presumably, as MNG has 55%, there is nothing to stop them calling an EGM, proposing a placing to themselves of shares at 1p, and carrying the vote?

MNG didn't invest $30m for nothing, or because they think it's a basket case. Now they have 55%, they can issue shares to themselves at any price they want (assuming only a simple shareholder majority is required to vote through at AGM). So if more digging machinery is needed, just put another tranche of shares in, they increase their % ownership and will probably get the money back in profits anyway. I've just topped up.

Comparing Q2 report with Q1 is interesting. Q1 report included post implementation production in March 2016 and gave figures for March to Jun and April to June. If you take one from the other, you can get figures for March 2016. Production was 8,053 oz produced. That is almost the same as Q2. Extrapolation would give 24k oz /qtr (3x). Sales were 6,612 oz, which is more than half of Q2. Extrapolation would give 20k oz /qtr(1.7x) Target production is 10,000 oz per month, 30k ox/Qtr.. Therefore, the production costs quoted have scope to be A LOT lower, IF production can be maintained.

Those that have held longer than, I please correct if I've got anything wrong. NAV was $140m prior to MNG buying 55% by issue of new shares to them in exchange for $30m. $140m divided by 1bn shares = 14c/ share or 10.77p. This ignores the fact that $30m cash has just been added to balance sheet, but I'll ignore this as it will be spent and the finances have probably worsened since the financial statements were issued 3 months ago. However - SP should be 10p+, and MNG have acquired $70m+ of assets for $30m.

Hi All, Am a new investor today, but only for buttons. I like shares that have interest and growth potential. In answer to the question from Diamondguru, I would suggest that maybe the new majority shareholders know a bit about mining and see something they like in order to drop £30m in. I'm always reassured to see money coming in from those who should be in the know. Good luck all.
