As that claim has come from a Govt that we now know was lying and attempting to cover things up then I'm not so sure how accurate their accusation is. Not a great fan of any 'far' anything party but if it means some children aren't now raped tonight then at least they have done something positive.

Totally agree on the online sales tax & they should stop the cross border fiddling. If you profitably trade in a country you should pay tax like the domestic companies have to.

I’ve never heard that angle as to why UK Govs like them. Maybe if our companies weren’t being squeezed so tightly they’d perhaps have the ability to pay on time?

Things must have changed as in my day they’d be down on you like a ton of bricks if your VAT return was a single day late and I can vividly remember taking tax returns by hand to the local tax office, just in case the post failed!

Not a fan of Maplins but I'd suggest the online chap probably doesn't have the council rates to pay, or staff, pensions, H&S etc etc. A lot of business' have to compete on an uneven keel and the shortfall needs to be made up for somewhere.

I would be more forgiving if I wasn't able to vividly recall the mess Brown left in 2010.

The Tories certainly failed to repair the damage they historically were normally able to do. An unprecedented 3 Labour terms realistically saw to that, never mind Ukraine & Covid.

The present Govt will get away with a certain amount because by constantly saying 14 years, foundations and black hole some will believe it's true.

Whether people will be taken in for the next 5 years I doubt, but either way they will have to take some responsibility for their actions eventually.

Don't worry as it's all been fully costed and the adults are now in charge.

Now of course she may be making it all up, but I strongly suspect if this was untrue then Rodney would be taking her to court rather than attempting to deflect in the exact same way he did with the little girls murdered in Southport.
