Kurdistan Region's oil production rises to 120,000 barrels per day after attacks29 Jul 2025 11:01
Baghdad Today – The EcoIraq Economic Observatory announced on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) that the rate of oil production in the Kurdistan Region has risen to 120,000 barrels per day, after it had declined to 81,000 barrels as a result of attacks on oil field infrastructure in the past period.
The Observatory said in a statement received by Baghdad Today that "production declined to 81,000 barrels per day following the targets, but recent days have witnessed a gradual recovery to rise to about 120,000 barrels per day."
"Production is expected to reach about 280,000 barrels per day by the end of August, which is close to what it was before the recent attacks," he said.
EcoIraq pointed out that the stability of oil production may contribute to calming tensions between the federal government and the regional government, especially in light of the ongoing negotiations on the management of the oil file and export mechanisms.
The Observatory confirmed at the end of its statement that no formal agreement has yet been reached between the Federal Ministry of Oil and the KRG on a timetable for the resumption of oil exports from Kurdistan.
