Hi MatthewC, a strong update in my view. this board is on the cautious side with its updates. all of the extra capacity and increased efficiency should elude to revenue increases. larger profit increase. and then feed through to divs. my persoanl view is that this will have very solid growth coupled with strong dividned generation in the medium term.
do we know what this years forecats EPS is? i seem to remember around 50p but dont have access to my sharescope to check.
AGM tomorrow so no doubt a couple of lines about trading performance! This firm just needs to continue doing what it does so well. Solid trading, integrate acquisitions, eek out cost saves. These 3 combined will continue to drive this stock. What's everyone's end of the week estimate on share price?
Morning all - huge news today. Development commences so real cash flow is not that far away! RNS is below. GALANTAS GOLD CORPORATION TSXV and AIM: Stock Symbol - 'GAL' GALANTAS COMMENCES UNDERGROUND DEVELOPMENT AT OMAGH GOLD MINE 13(th) March 2017 : Galantas Gold Corporation (the Company) is pleased to announce that underground development has commenced on the Omagh gold property, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The initial works are for the formation of a portal (initial tunnel entry area) in the western side wall at the base of the Kearney open pit. When the portal works are complete, the underground development will continue in order to access ore beneath a crown pillar retained in the base of the open pit. It is expected that ore zones are likely to be reached within 6 months. The works have commenced using the underground mining equipment purchased last year (reported 9(th) August 2016) by the Company's Northern Ireland operating subsidiary. Roland Phelps, President & CEO, Galantas Gold Corporation said, "This is an important milestone in the development of the Omagh underground gold mine. We are pressing ahead with mine development, in accordance with our planning permission. We await a judgement on the judicial review of that permission, for which no date has yet been advised to us. So far, we have boosted our local workforce to 17, including some former colleagues, who were previously laid off during planning delays."
Hi Fabian, do you mind me asking how you know no new evidence was presented? From what I am able to gather teh judge gave a week for new evidence, that week expired in Friday. So are we saying that the judeg still needs to review the evidence again? Even though they have seen it before?
my hope is that this stock makes the FTSE 250 before long and onto electronic trading. where i understand this nonsense happens far less.
I am guessing this will go from a sleepy board to a much busier one today after these results!! Both organic and acquisition growth. At EPS of 7.6 with these kind of results is a PE of 20 too much? That would put JSG at 152p. . . "Another year of significant progress" -- Strong financial performance that reflects both organic growth and recent acquisitions: - revenue up 36.4% to GBP256.7 million - adjusted profit before taxation(2) up 45.1% to GBP33.8 million - adjusted fully diluted earnings per share(3) up 31.0% to 7.6p -- Proposed final dividend of 1.7p, making a full year dividend of 2.5p, up 19.0% -- Strategic acquisitions of Zip Textiles, Afonwen and Chester Textiles in H1, significantly increasing the Group's presence in the high volume hotel linen rental market: - all immediately earnings enhancing and have expanded the Group's geographic reach - further operational and synergistic cost benefits are expected as the integration process is completed -- Continued investment across all operations focusing on enhanced customer service and operational efficiency and capacity
Good to see some opinions and informed debate on here. I am not that familiar with the legal world but to be clear I believe this case is against the DOENI (or whetevere the planning authorities are called). Is the case aganist DOENI (not Galantas) allegedly not following the corrcet procedure for passing planning? This to me made the case far likelier to succeed as they are taking government and not Galantas to court. My understading is also that planning is granted whilst the case is on progress, so they are able to mine now. My own persoanl view is that galantas wants to see this case away. then they can lease all the machinery they need. An RNS came out recently saying they canm mine ome of the closer to the surface gold which should also provide early and easier revenue to kick things off. Fabian thanks for your numbers. I have not done those calculations in a long while but i may dig them then out and update over the weekend. yes we have been diluted, but we have also had resource upgrades in Omagh (and possibly at the other site).
Hi Fabian, how do you know about this one week wait? Has there been a decision? if you dont mind could you post a link if you have one?
Decision day today!
RT Marine Systems plc ('SRT') is pleased to advise that it has received and shipped an order for 1,500 basic I100 Identifier VMS AIS Transceivers with SAT-Trak technology which will be deployed in Africa for the tracking and identification of small fishing vessels as part of a government supported program. The I100 Identifier AIS Transceivers will be installed on small fishing boats and powered from their integrated re-chargeable batteries which can permit continuous operation for up to 240 hours between charges. The I100 Identifiers will transmit the fishing boats exact GPS location and unique identity using the international AIS data communications protocol. This enables them to be seen and monitored by local patrol boats and aircraft as well as shore based AIS Coast stations in real time at a range of up to 150 nautical miles. The I100 Identifiers supplied also benefit from integrated SAT-Trak technology which significantly increases the percentage of transmissions that AIS equipped satellites are able to receive, process and relay to ground based monitoring centres. In this instance, SAT-Trak was configured and optimised for a specific AIS satellite constellation whose satellites will now be able to receive and process transmissions from the I100 Identifier when their orbits pass over the boats. Simon Tucker, CEO of SRT said: "SRT have been at the forefront of AIS based VMS systems for many years as demonstrated by our proven VMS product and system deployments which are now in daily use by national authorities. Our I100 Identifier series of AIS based VMS vessel transceivers have proven to be robust and reliable in tracking all types of small fishing boats across the globe. We continue to negotiate a number of other contracts and will update the market at the appropriate time."
Velo, this is all very interesting. Many thanks for the extensive post. I will need some time to read all those links!
I wish I was. I would have no issue admitting it. I shorted after the last update and took aquite a few pence out of it, probaby 10p or so. But I am out now. I came to look at this stock with a balanced view (see my post of 24th Jan). I know people spend crazy amounts on their pets and like the sound of the grooming and vets side of things. The superstores are huge (possibly too big) and subject to stiff competition. I am just saying this stock is probably fairly valued at the moment. another bad trading update could see this share hammered further. I will sit on sidelines until the next update. If they can prove themselves then i may trade this from the long side :)
has anyone read phil oakleys article on retail roll out? suggesting that flat to negative like for like sales is the turning point for any reatil stock like this. unless there is a heathy bounce back in like for like sales you can easily see this challenging lows at a shade under 170p. Interestingly the article suggests PE ratios of 20+ tend to fall to around 12-13. PETS today stands at 12.81. This to me seems a fairer valuation on this stock right now given their current performance. i would not expect a rally from these levels. http://www.sharescope.co.uk/philoakley_article141.jsp I am not short this stock (anymore) but wanted to add an alternative view. good luck all.
Hi robins, where did Chris rigg say sales were VERY encouraging? I just checked the latest RNS and could not see it.
sadly my position is not large, in any case not selling out here. who even cares with QP. up tuppence today!! yes agree on your other post too. two products between now and may would do me.
Hi robins, is May the next update? then i would agree we need something.
Morning all! Thanks Velo for that snippet on Japan. When japan kicked off a year or so ago the RNS stating if it continued results would be ahead of expectations. when the programme stopped we took a significant hit on sentiment for quite a while. so it is very important to PHTM share price. can i ask where you got this link please? and especially what date is was published? If we kow for sure its restating and PHTM are central to it that would be a game changer. now i think about it i believe PHTM said in an RNS this year they will be booking no Japan ID profits this year when the programme got stalled. re the strong price movement in last few days i think the (slow) realisation that the UK ID hit will be small, or even non-existent as i dont believe they will have more relaxed guidelines on photos than the rest of europe. also shorts being closed out. i am feeling quite bullish for next few months here
I like the RNS out this morning! Seems like they have a very strong plan being executed whilst staying within guidance for performance.
