Hi Rylidan, I add a few more areas that i believe make this the best turnaround play i know . . . 1. Revenue growth on the remaining business 2. That profit margins are going to be as good as stated 3. That new products are bought on-line to drive the growth 4. Focus on products where QP has an advantage 5. New export markets brough on line (perhaps not imminent but certainly over next 12 months I am hopeful) 6. Better management of balance sheet and debt 7. Board hevaily invested and overseeing management.
agree. really good update. plan on track / ahead. profitability increased. board believe higher value in pipeline than previously. As the pipeline progresses through its various stages of development the Board's confidence in its deliverability and value has increased; I dont eben think we need to wait until xmas. The August H1 results should give us more information on margins.
Ahead of update on Wednesday here is the last trading update: Trading Update Trading across the combined Niche and Specials divisions in the early months of the year has been ahead of plan and the Board expect this outperformance to offset the majority of the disposed contribution from Biodose Services in the current financial year. Commenting on the strategic disposal, Chris Rigg, Chief Executive Officer of Quantum, said: "The sale of Biodose Services positions Quantum as a simplified and focussed pharma business with a higher quality of earnings. It is particularly pleasing that we have been able to demonstrate a quick path to profitability for Biodose Services and exit it to a buyer who can bring greater emphasis and better synergies to that business. The strong trading performance in the first few months of the year means that we expect to be slightly ahead of management expectations for the remaining Group and look forward to providing a further trading update on 9 August 2017."
Hi Mike. Yes I have been invested a while. As it illiquid and has a big spread I don't fancy trading this much. I believe in the future of this company. It seems they have dealt with a lot of the big issues and are now progressing with mine development. Seems early cash flow and ramping up to 100 staff. You are talking 12-18 months but I think we will see considerable movement up before that!
Suporting my arguement is list of ways this company is growing earnings: I understand the desire to take profits but this company is growing in the following ways 1) organically through increasing investment in core litigation business through its litigation profits. 2) organically through increasing investment in core litigation business through its Petersen case (same as 1) but big enough for a special mention. 3) organically through increasing investment in core litigation business through bond financing. 4) organically through addition of investment management business. 5) through acquisition of Gerchen Keller
Thanks redrichmond. my thoughts exactly. i know its had a huge rise but on many measures its still cheap. profit after tax of $142m. Assume $280m for the full year. give or take $280m = £215m. £2bn market cap seems cheap to me. ------------------------------------------------ 151% increase in operating profit to half-year record of $155.0 million (H1 2016: $61.7 million), and 170% increase in profit after tax to $142.7 million (H1 2016: $52.8 million)
chris.. thanks for the article. very interesting. the plan makes sense as they have done the hard work over here and seems a useful idea to look at markets overseas. trading update 9th August. not sure if we will get news of an overseas deal but i am expecting steady and solid gains in the areas they are focsuing on.
Hi mike. no you are not mad. i have been follwoing this for some time. i anticipate things will start to move in the near future. especially if you read the last RNS's that mine is in development. i think the weald players UKOG, ANGS are monopolising speculatve funds
My post from 19th July. . . . . HFWizard Posts: 367 Off Topic Price:956.00 RE: £10 coming? 19 Jul '17 not getting enough time to look at too many charts. however 27 July 2017 wil be the interim results. Since last significant update. we have sold off another chunk of petersen (i believe), we have announced plans for the fund, further intergation of the acquisition, placed a bond to take advantage of more investments. not a thorough analysis, but then again not too far wide of the mark i think. 1000p on or before 27th. buy or top up now . . . .this is fair warning!!!
It was definitely NOT all priced in. I dont think any personal investor was expecting results that strong (note large move up in days prior to results). I understand the desire to take profits but this company is growing in the following ways 1) organically through increasing investment in core litigation business through its litigation profits. 2) organically through increasing investment in core litigation business through its Petersen case (same as 1) but big enough for a special mention. 3) organically through increasing investment in core litigation business through bond financing. 4) organically through addition of investment management business. 5) through acquisition of Gerchen Keller I have been buying this for years. The only trance I have ever sold was on a spike down to 700p when I got caught by what I assume was a market maker shake out on a stop I had in place. For the record it went up in a straight line to 800p immediately afterwards. By all means take profits if your analysis highlights a solid reason to. But firms like these are hard to come by . . .

Hi Orangetree, a good synopsis and a decent article. Question for us now is a rapidly expanding laundry unit enough. Figures off top of my head but is even if they double revenue will only increase 10m. Whilst the laundry is an ice side line. Do we really need the Japan ID cards back in full swing? That had a dramatic effect on expectations and share price .
Solid set of results with a strong plan and vision how to grow revenue and returns. Happy with the progress here
very happy with that update. I expected a bigger reaction though! They state the repeated 20% ORDINARY div growth year on year but if I remember rightly the special div is everything above £50m reserves? so could be on for an interesting special div! The Board expects the financial year ended 30 April 2017 will be in line with market expectations, with significant revenue growth and record progress in profit before tax (+c.20% compared with 2016), supporting the Group's stated commitment to increase the total ordinary dividend by 20% year on year. Did we know about this Germany roll out? or is it a surprise? The Group has now also started the progressive roll-out of the ANTS booths in Germany.
Hi Redrichmond, thanks for all this info. I do frequently read this board so it is very useful. i do not get to post as frequently as i would like though. we are on one of our one way marches up at the moment. i cant see it why it should pause for breath before 1000p.
Hi oldbadger, out of interest where do you desire the price to go? will you buy a pull back or buy strength as it moves up? PHTM has not has a significant pull back in some time. I persoanlly feel any positive news will give this stock a big big lift . . .
Hi Redrichmind, check my sharescop last night. says 50.55p so close $0.65c. even at todays price of 870p still onlt on a PE of 17.2. i can easily see a PE of at least 22/25 for this stock giving a price band 1112/1263p. and considering the buying momentum it seems some institution agree with us!
Thanks for a good summary TruroTrader. this is the nature of the beast that for business reason they cannot be more transparent! I too am incredibly optimistic here. I dont have the fuigures to hand but remember that board incentives/options kick in over 100p if i recall correctly.
