However, as usual here, it's a tiny sample so not too much can be read into it except that the tininess itself shows that all the talk of news due and leaks yesterday was just that - talk.

Blimey, all this excitement at getting back to 0.7p when only a couple of weeks ago some were saying it was 'firming up' at around that price (before it promptly nosedived to below 0.6p). Maybe in a few more weeks the same people will be getting excited when it goes back up 0.5p following the next fall?

No, it was a long post to say volume doesn’t really matter. It is news that primarily drives sp (and volume) not the other way round. It was long as I tried to dumb down what is pretty basic stuff (no ‘expertise’ required) for those that still obsess over trading volumes or small movements in sp. There is no need to unless you’re a daytrader.

Was just trying to be helpful - there wasn’t a single negative about QBT in the post.

A. None. Neither question is relevant. What will move the price over 1p is news of a deal or other significant, positive news (or rumour). If that happens via an RNS then it will almost certainly take place before the market opens and the price will be moved by MMs before they start dealing with the general public - with the opening price being set by the opening auction between the MMs etc. Even if the news or rumour breaks during the day the price will be moved initially and instantly to encourage the most trading - not as a result of the amount of trading. It will only then move according to whether this price is set too high (attracting many more sellers than buyers) or too low (attracting many more buyers than sellers). Absolute volume is far less important than the balance between buying pressure and selling pressure.

It is news that drives both sp and volume most. Without news volume here for example is pitifully low and MMs are left to ferret around for a price to attract any business hence why price can move on so little volume or even no volume at all.

If news of a deal breaks though then the sp will go through the roof (and so will the volume but as an effect of the news).

Just common sense really.
