Or it is simply the fair price that reflects the awful results, its distressed cash position, the lack of forward guidance and a market not yet convinced by the company's recovery strategy.

You can come up with as many conspiracy theories as you like but if you keep making things up and blaming others for the performance of your investments rather than the company themselves then you will probably continue to make poor choices.

Actually Bon you can work out most of the numbers for PLT from the information they have given but you have to work quite hard to do it and I wouldn't bother anyway as they've made a few slip ups along the way so it doesn't quite add up in places. That's what comes of rushing out the results just in time.

Ocean - Even if Finley is talking about full pre-tax profits it doesn't mean a lot as so much of costs get buried in the subs' parent company rather than the subs themselves so their 'profitability' is fairly meaningless whatever measure they use. After all they were are all apparently 'profitable' last year (except from maybe PLT) but overall the company made a £349m loss!

That's why the 'sum of the parts being worth more than the whole' argument is rather flawed. The 'parts' ignore huge chunks of the costs.

When Finley says profitable he only seems to be talking about adjusted EBITDA in which case it means very little as far as I’m concerned.

I've watched the video twice already and a third time won't be a charm for me as it is such a painful watch both in terms of the content and the wooden way in which it is presented - so I think I'll give that a miss.

I wouldn't be so sure about a loss being shown for Debs marketplace as they seem to keep most if not all of the 'exceptional' costs aways from the subs. So the pre-tax profit may be quite close to the adjusted EBITDA figure (can't remember if that was £15m or £25m or something else?) for Debs and whether that was for just marketplace. No Interest is assigned to marketplace whilst the dep and amort it picks up won't be much more than £5m I think.

So I think it will be a positive number but can't know for sure. Whether it's a true refection is another matter though.

Of course BOO are. Look at the interest rate on the loan. Look at the huge losses. Look at the cash burn. Look at the Balance Sheet. Look at the share price. Look (and fail to find) any meaningful guidance. Etc. etc.

Things could turn around and the director buys are indeed encouraging but no more than that. But as of this point in time the business is clearly distressed.

Of course I expect my investments to fall sometimes, in fact most of the time as trying to invest at the bottom is a fools game but there is a big difference between that and watching a stock fall well over 90%. If you think that's ok as part of a medium investment term strategy then good luck with that strategy. But for a company to lose that much value means something has gone seriously wrong with the business and any decision to invest in it was a poor one as nobody intentionally invests in a company to see it fail so badly - and BOO has clearly failed very badly over the last three years to the point where it has completely changed its focus now.

So now COULD be a very good time to invest in BOO but investing in the business one, two or three years ago was clearly a mistake as that business has failed.

If I buy a share for £1.30 and the price plummets to 13p then I’ve made a bad call whatever my investment horizon is as I could have waited and bought ten times the stock for the same money (or the same stock for a tenth of the price).

Steve, I don’t know why you are looking at equity rather than cash directly. They burned through €1.3m of cash in the first six months so a bit lower than your figure but part of the €1.7m cash they have is potentially tied up (the Sipiem money they already hold but is subject to further wrangling so it is unclear whether they can touch this).

Also they wouldn't let cash go to the wire so the next raise could be only a few months away.

We know an attempt to raise is coming sometime though as this is made clear in the going concern statement.

Bfd - For starters some of the things you list you’ve twisted as is your usual ploy but also I never said they didn’t get things wrong, just less than you.

I could trawl back over all your posts and come up with a list of over 100 things you have got wrong but life’s too short and besides most on here know already how consistently out of touch you’ve been and how frequently you make mistakes.

And yet Bfd still propagates the myth that they hold only 2% of their portfolio in BOO, have an average in the low 30’s and is not T4G.
