I think you are now tying yourself in knots. So when you said 42 x 16k are you now saying you really do expect it to go up 42x times from here and it is just coincidence that the 8 bagger to 50 bagger you mentioned originally gives a different 42?

Why can't you just say you got it wrong. Just like with the 0.0006p that Phimx quoted. That was clearly just a simple mistake. You obviously meant 0.06p not 0.0006p but somehow you still insist (in capital letters) that you didn't slip up. Just be honest and admit it. It doesn't cost anything and it would help your credibility - not harm it.

You don't need to explain simple maths to me - I'm a mathematician. So you've confirmed your shares are now worth £16k (i.e. not your original investment) so please then explain how you get 42 x £16k which is what I was querying? Surely you meant 42 x £2,400?

And also how you make out AGL to be a two-bagger in the last two weeks?

Hang on, if it has already done 8 bags and has 42bags to go then you can only apply a 42x factor to your original investment. Do you seriously expect us to believe you invested £16k in January (and caught the very bottom) and are sitting on over a £100k profit already? If you mean your investment is worth £16k now, then that would be more believable but it is then only just over a 5-bagger from 8 to 50 not 42. And of course there is no knowing if it will go up or down from where it is now anyway so it is a bit soon to be counting those chickens.

And how exactly have you two bagged on AGL when it has not gone up nearly as much as that in the last fortnight? From what I can see Its lowest over the last few months is 1.65 and it is now around 2.3 (and with a large spread). So at the very most not even half a bag let alone two? There are plenty of other holes too that can be easily found in what you post.

The trouble with telling so many lies is that it is so easy to trip yourself up and your knees and elbows must be absolutely covered in cuts and bruises.

Top tip - at least try and make your fantasies add up a little better if you want to convince anybody that what you are saying bears any resemblance at all to the truth.

John, I'm afraid the AI is a bit wonky. If you look at the actual price history it peaked in June 2020 as per my earlier post and SCB's too - and the max was 433p.

It still means though that the mcap was indeed over £5bn and stayed that way for around a fortnight.

Yes, on the 17th June 2020 it peaked at 433.5p intraday with 1.258,899,050 shares. So mcap of nearly £5.5bn. (Not sure where you are seeing a peak in 2021 JH).

Simpiles - but it is just a little noise in a much bigger picture. Shorts aren't to blame for where the sp is nor will they be the cause of any significant rise. If the company performs then the sp will rise and the shorts will likely disappear - not the other way around.

Heatseeker - there was also a very big rights issue at a heavy discount in 2018 which needs to be adjusted for as well - and probably other things. Most historic graphs make the appropriate adjustments so what you see should be directly comparable to the price now. Both google and yahoo show a maximum sp of around £120 in 2015 and about half that in 2000. I presume both adjust for the consolidation and any other similar events like the rights issue in 2018.

In any event, as I said, the exact number is less important as it is clear anyway that the mcap (which is the important thing) is much lower than it was back then but there is a good reason for this that has nothing to do with shorters or whatever. It is simply that Capita was a very profitable and growing business back then compared to the loss-making one it is today. Reverse that and the share price will move towards old levels, if it continues making losses then it won't. Hopefully the next results will show that the recovery is still on.

Exactly Kipper. Some get obsessed with shorts but really they just need a bogeyman to rail against or blame (if it's not shorts then it's MMs, posters who aren't happy clappy all the time or the alignment of the planets). All that really matters is company performance and it finally looks like that may be heading back in the right direction. If that continues then we'll all be laughing, if it doesn't then we'll be crying in our beer. In the long run shorts, negative posts and the position of Jupiter in the sky doesn't matter.

Not sure if it ever quite hit £175 but in 2014 they made underlying profits of over £500m with FCF over £300m (and they were paying dividends).

That’s why the mcap was much, much higher then than it is now. They ‘just’ have to get back to that sort of profitability to restore the value of the business to that kind of level and shorts are not really relevant to that. Positive FCF by end year is just a first step - many more needed.

SCB - I can only see your side of the conversation so can’t comment on the veracity of what he is saying but you are correct that the £175m facility is costing about the same (actually a little more probably) than the £325m facility which is exactly what I thought you meant. This assumes all, or nearly all, of the £175m is drawn which I’m pretty sure is the case by now.

So I’m not sure what he can be arguing about - but then again I very rarely did even when I could see what he was chuntering on about!
