It's not BMWs responsibility to go an internally audit all suppliers accounts & employment payroll. It is the responsibility of local governments to do that. The complexity of supply chains are huge & therefore each company operates as its own entity with its 100s-1000s of relationships. By all means have the basic checks but you cannot audit everyone with a fine toothcomb.

Yeah PP1 means well so I don'y knock them for that as I pick optimism over pessimism ANY day but he/she sure needs to balance their views. I feel sad for those who live in the constant pessimistic world looking for failure vs success. At least PP1 is success driven.

Yep thats for different reasons with oil price. They took a dip after the big spill & recovered.

But they would have found any wrong doing if VAT fraud at Boohoo. QC found it at suppliers & reported. Clearly no issues of VAT at Boohoo otherwise they would have had to report in accounts.

Agree they had to go with what QC found & they did not. Seems common theme for them:

IF something was wrong then PwC, as still current auditors until replaced, would have to report it. They have chosen not to comment which tells me there is nothing more. Through natural 5 year cycles auditors are replaced. I can see they want too distance themselves from all this so have taken the out at the right time. If PwC are knowingly quitting while hiding something (as they are still auditors for Boohoo today) then that would be far more detrimental to them as an auditing business.
