Great update. I would hope they are sampling more than 36 tonnes as that’s only 2 grab lorry loads. We had 28 grab lorry loads when we re did our back garden and it’s not that big. Hopefully more samples to follow but if it’s all gold who cares!

No reason to avoid the company

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. If we know and understand the risks of investing in Boohoo, there’s no reason to avoid the business. The organisation is one of the fastest-growing companies listed in London. As it gobbles up other struggling brands, it doesn’t look as if the group is going to slow down anytime soon. If the firm can put its current problems behind it, I reckon we could see large profits from the Boohoo share price in the long term.

2 UK shares I’d buy as the FTSE 100 sinks

A leader in online shopping

Another UK stock I’d buy today is online fashion retailer ASOS (LSE:ASC). It’s part of the FTSE AIM 100 index.

The reason I’m bullish here is that Covid-19 has accelerated the shift to online shopping. ASOS, as a global leader in online fashion, is benefiting from this shift enormously. In addition, the work-from-home movement is pushing up demand for comfortable loungewear. ASOS is a specialist in this area of the clothing market.

ASOS posted an excellent set of full-year results earlier this month. For the year to 31 August, revenue was up 19%, while earnings per share were up a huge 327%. The group enjoyed strong sales growth worldwide with Europe and the US up 22% and 18% respectively. This international growth is great to see as the opportunity internationally is huge. The company said it’s positioned to capture the global opportunity despite uncertainty associated with Covid-19.

ASOS shares have had a good run this year. I picked some up in March at 1,100p. Since then, they’ve risen to around 4,500p. I expect them to continue rising in the medium to long term, however, as sales and profits continue to climb. The FTSE AIM 100 stock currently trades on a forward-looking P/E ratio of 31 using next year’s earnings forecast. I’m a buyer at that valuation.

Yep

This is exceptional news as US investors don’t dump like scardy cat brits

People will still want to feel good, get together where they can in public or private, boo isn’t expensive, there is adequate support deform government, people haven’t spent out on holidays, cars, transport, fuel etc this year. Online shopping is growing & the high street is dead. People love posting this stuff online to. People love to shop.

I’m in the camp that fully expects lockdown v2 to equal jump in sales v2.

Agree CS are not a huge fan as we’ve seen before & it’s an upgrade from Underperform so positive and at least acknowledges the 300s is where it should be. If this is the rating from a conservative non fan then others will be mid 300s and beyond.

Also listed on Amazon with Amazon results today should be interesting.

Over the last 2 weeks the amount of positive press, PR & advertising has been flooding my inbox from ASOS!

New product launches & competitions covered on Capital Radio, OK magazine, Hello magazine, Heat, The Sun, The Mirror, Sky News & BBC - to name a few!

I can see as we go into lockdown 2 there will be an even bigger growth spurt here as their brand awareness is huge & folks will want to dress up for their private get togethers. I’m sure the ASOS Hauls will also increase on YouTube & TikTok will thrive.

As the forecast has been downplayed I think we will be in for a very nice surprise, especially as returns have been made so easy with the Royal Mail.

The share price is at an excellent entry point to push back to 5500 high & beyond, as per broker forecasts of 5700-6500.

Have you seen all the coverage they’ve got from their new product release in Hello, OK, Heat, The Sun, The Mirror & many more!

I think they downplayed outlook but know more lockdowns is massive for them.

Been quite a few multi M buys lately - just waiting too see when they will let it go back up now ...

We had a few days like this a month or so ago then everything flew back up. Don't know why we let a US president effect things so much here.

Look at IAG, RR, TUI, CCL, EZJ, BOO, BP, HSBC, LLOY, CINE .... etc
Most stocks down since March Drop
US will feel it more as they didn't reset much in March whereas we did in UK
Every drop presents buying opportunities or averaging down
I sold US stocks in March thinking a crash was inbound there & here we are still waiting

It is just crazy how often they keep regurgitating the same junk over & over

There are a few more worthy news items like US Election, Covid, 2nd Wave, Brexit, Unemployment, Economy, BlackLivesMatter, Migrants, Murder Hornets & lack of Toilet Rolls!

Since all this I don’t bother with any Times material & they lost my IC subscription - they are so desperate for junk news now that they should be called The Sunny Times or Financial Mirror.
