They downplayed the outlook on the 20 somethings potential unemployment but I also think they wanted the price lower as they issued loads of new employee share options & incentives which gives them upside.

As we know there has been a massive move to online & see the report I just shared on ASOS massive sales in lockdown. More high street dying with or without covid. Vaccine will get 20 somethings working & going out again. I see nothing but positive growth in 2021. The results show how well they are doing but were right to be cautious.

Just before lockdown we went to a decent pub for a long meal. I asked many of the late teen & 20 somethings which brand they preferred for online clothing & the overwhelming response was ASOS. Their reasons were ASOS provides higher quality clothes and their App was better. While many still used Boohoo they said their clothes were cheaper, didn’t last as well & were more for students. I said Boohoo has bought many high street brands to accommodate a wider age range but they were unaware. Again the people I were asking were in a well off region of the uk in a decent pub. So ultimately there is room for both. People on lower incomes (that’s most of the younger population) will go Boohoo but also my neighbour who is in their 50s uses online Boohoo brands such as Karen Millen. ASOS is a more solid share without Boo issues held mainly by large institutions & has room to grow (based on latest ratings) around 25-45%. Boohoo however has a higher growth opportunity of 60-85%. I personally hold both. BWNG also fills a gap that these two don’t. Both ASOS & BOO have great international growth & brand expansion. Both are making profits now.
