I asked the question about directors buying last week and got the following reply "We are currently in a closed period but should have a window end of this month" Maybe get some buying after scheduled announcement on 28-October?

There was a presentation and conference call on 30-sep that answered most of those questions. They are unlikely to mention cash generating asset until deal is announced now, we know they are talking to a number of potential targets and will ensure they have cash to complete the deal. With regards to UC, I think the Eskom deal was highlight in the documentation when the deal was announced.

Lots and lots of coal!! My fear has always been that someone takes us out on the cheap. I had always thought of it being a Chinese or Indian counterpart. But take someone like Exxaro, their market cap is now over £2bn with their share price having risen by over 40% in recent weeks. A lot of miners have risen considerably as has the underlying asset and someone could swallow someone like us easily at a cheap price. David Brown was expecting consolidation in the SA mining sector, and I wouldn't rule out someone of our ilk making a play for our assets given the current state of play.

Exxaro, Wescoal and Keaton all flying today. This move is highly significant for Vele/Mooiplaats and overall IRR of Makhado. I believe we're currently doing our due diligence and speaking with shareholders etc about cash generating acquisition. And this time we'll have cash to complete deal and not be reliant on any other deals beyond our control getting finalised.

The UC deal fell through as they didn't get the take off agreement with eskom. I think DB was relieved as despite their record output only produced net cash flow of 2.3m Aussie. Love the way universal shareholders have come on here moaning about Cza. If everything was going so well, would you not be trading higher than pre-bid level?

Thought he was very positive about coking coal and with risk to upside with regard to Makhado etc. We just need to find cash generating asset and get regulatory approval!!! Long term I'm confident.

Couldn't agree with you more. They hope to have cash generating asset nailed on by end October. Makhado, Vele, Mooiplaats news to come by end of year and coal prices flying. Coking coal doubled in last 6 weeks and with OPEC deal seeing oil up 6% last night that trend should continue. We find out more tomorrow hopefully
