We pretty much agree lol
A move away from oil based plastics is probably going to take more than a generation, I agree with you on that. And like I said, money to be made in the mean time. I dont think the success of SYM is based on the UK market either, the US appears to be our biggest market (2016 annual return), with Saudi and Pakistan being great prospects too. I'm saying Ill be pretty disappointed if we are unable to capitalise on the changes and the wave of sentiment in recent weeks in the UK. Particularly considering d2w (as far as I understand it) is a perfect solution to the problem of unrecyclable films you get on supermarket packaging.
There is positive sentiment in the market at the moment for companies like this, its a hot topic. When things cool off a little we will see if the price is here to stay, I remain skeptical that it will. My take will be that the price will drop a little over the next three months as things cool down. Wait for the next trading update, which will indicate how well they have been able to capitalise on this recent action in the news, perhaps even the half year results we will need to wait for. If you read the commitments of the major UK supermarkets and places like MacDonalds, they are all committing to sustainable resources for their packaging which d2w doesn't fit with. I believe that the actual technology is not very well future proofed and there is a smaller potential market then most think, but I will ride the hype.
Nice rise today, very nice. Lets see if it lasts the day, I have a feeling not.
Thank you for the link to the Video. Stephen did a good job here, hopefully this will help us capitalise on this being a hot topic in the media. Share Share Share everyone!
Interesting, thank you for the swift response. Anyone who has any links, I would be most appreciative.
Ive been doing a little investigation into d2w trying to find any patent or patent pending that Symphony holds on the additive. All I have found so far are other patents that use d2w and are held by other companies. Has anyone done any investigation on this before?
Its a bit of a knee jerk reaction if its the China ban. Especially on the day it came into force, you'd expect the price to shift on announcement. Still think this is a hot share to be in long term, nice to be 10% up for the time being! :)
Can anyone explain the 14% jump today?
with the additonal 4k customers from these aquisitions, I expect SWW will easily exceed their 100k target before they end of the year.
Leapfrog, the key word in my sentence was "constantly". Im familiar with how MCAP works. HeadInTheSand summarised that well enough for me, no additional explanation needed from me.
jsmith23, This share is unlikely to have a constantly rising SP over a sustained period, not until the MCAP is far higher and its an established company with very positive future cashflow's. Its going to move up/down on RNS announcements, the most likely ones being a trading update/results or the announcement of an acquisition. All you can do is sit back, relax and wait for some news. Who knows where the share price will be in 12 months time. As long as the cashflow is improving and they are not funding acquisitions through releases of equity then we will be in a good position.
Im positive about the company and the fundamentals, its just wether that translates into the share price increase that we are looking for. When they achieve the kinds of download/upload speeds they expect to see in the next few years then this market is going to get a lot bigger and SAT will be in a prime place to take advantage of this. I would like to see more organic growth from the companies that have been purchased already, there are many many customers out there who would purchase systems like this these and the price point is not far from being competitive with the mass market ISP's. The short term is going to be all about how they fund the next takeover(s), wether they can surpass the 100k customer mark ahead of schedule and end of year results. This share is all about the long term outlook, which is very positive IMO. jsmith23 - I would not be concerned about the day to day SP movement with this one, not one to invest in if you'll be needing your cash anytime soon. Thats probably true for most of the AIM.
Happy with those results, lets hope the SP will follow suit. Acquisitions on the horizon...
Despite taking a pretty big hit yesterday I remain optimistic about this share.
Hi Ftsemajor and others, thank you for the replies. I now understand the theory for why the price might change, but the theory doesnt quite feel substantial enough for me. If the theory were true, the price would change in proportion to the number of shares bought, which it hasn't as you pointed out in your other post. The price of the share is determined on what the last trades were, not on the number of shares in existence and wether that number varies. It sounds more like the share price rises because of the theory, rather than anything else. The accounting reasons also don't really stack up to me (although Im not an accountant), as the company is not performing any better than before it purchased shares. All they are doing is writing off a large sum of cash and hoping it is returned to the investor through market sentiment. Funny old world.
Thank you ohmygod. Makes sense if there are less shares in issue, the remaining are worth more. Wasnt aware it was common practice to cancel the shares after the purchase. I dont recall any mention of this in the RNS, Ill have to read it again!
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/phase_3_superfast_broadband Saw someone who has made a freedom of information request on this subject. looks as though it may come through too late if the award is actually made today.
Im failing to understand why a buy back scheme would result in such a sharp rise in SP. Im happy to show my inexperience by asking, but an explanation would be useful? Is it because there will be a guaranteed buyer in the market, who will buy at any price within a £15m budget?
Notice of results given this morning, 17th of October. Fingers Crossed.
