II will jump in here to take advantage of the RI and they don't usually sell short term. Rolls Royce is still a great business to invest in. If you listen to doom-mongers and lose money, your bad.

This is not a free for all rights issues, you need to be holding shares to qualify for 3 for 1 shares. So it's 96p a share (not 32p a share). Derampers are spouting non sense as they have been doing past 3 weeks.

Wooow... Boohoo is fire...nearly £500m gross profit and that to at half year.... £1b gross profit is not far way at year end. £350m in cash... 45% growth... Some mind boggling numbers... Puts ASOS 10% growth in a shed.

Crazy demand for this beauty on L2, we may end up 400p+!!

Toff - These are real experiences and if you dont believe, that's your choice. You learn from your mistakes and trust me I have made mistakes not investing in gems. I bought Boohoo 23p and sold 26p, and actually made a loss on 60p Ocado bet. All priceless lessons that has helped me boost my portfolio 25% higher from pre-covid. Anyways, no point talking to people with head in the sand on this board.

I am confident Rolls Royce will survive and thrive (couple of sovereign funds thinks so too, so I will follow the money along with them). If you are not invested, they why are you even here?

Toff - when Sovereign funds buy, they don't sell like novice PIs to make 10-15%. They are in for long haul (no pun intended). I remember Qatar investing in Barclays in 2008 for some piddly money, Barclays went on to rise 3 fold in next 3-4 years and Qatar sovereign fund went laughing all the way to the bank. Not to mention, takeover bids, sell of ITP Pro etc. that will benefit the SP.

You are completely missing the point about that word called "investment". You buy when there is blood on the street, you don't shy away say and I will buy later. 12 months down the line, we will be back to 400p and you will be wondering why I didn't buy. Believe me it has happened to me (a lot) in the past. Boohoo at 23p, Ocado at 60p - all I was worried about is oh what if this company go burst? Look at them now, stupid me.

Ignore people spouting doom and gloom. RR is a tech company and sovereign funds are willing to invest. This is a long term play for me, take a look at 2008 chart and then see what happened in next 4 years. I see similar gains here if you are willing to hold (not just RR but all big travel companies - they will survive and thrive as smaller businesses go bust).

Flat sp because weak holders filtering out....calm before the storm...This is an investment for me and a good one. If you are happy with your 10-20-30% profit good luck to you. I am in for big gains here and it's matter of a few days even.

We are going to the moon and beyond tomorrow if we follow ASOS trajectory! 500p should be achievable in near term IMO.

to buy a stock like Rolls Royce for 150p. Buy now and hold for 1-2 years for 150-200% gain! Just wait out a month for vaccine news and this will be back to 200p is my bet.

Some big companies with massive balance sheets on offer currently - HSBC, Barclays, Rolls Royce, Carnival, Easyjet, Whitbread, Barratts, L&G, Aviva, Greencore....the list goes on. Now is the time to invest for long term and hold it in the ISA for 2-3 years for 100% profit IMO. I just cannot see most of these companies going bust.

sunset - which stock is not for trading these days? Have a look at HSBC and Barclays - both up 10% and 7% respectively. Bought Boohoo at 235p couple of months back, currently 380p. In what world is that possible? I am loving the volatility. Bought BDEV 4 days ago for 439, currently 476. I will touch 500 tomorrow probably. Just bonkers!

Be careful before you sell as that's what derampers want. They want you to part with your share for cheap so they can get in!

Dickyboy - you wish if there is 20% drop. All those news are common now a days. There will be 5% drop before recovery back to 500p. Easyjet has one of the strongest balance sheet in industry and a bright future once vaccine is here.

People spouting no vaccine this year non sense, go watch Moderna CEO's chat with David Rubenstein. The virus is not very complicated so much greater chance for a vaccine. Moderna is in phase 3 trial and plan to provide market an update in 30 days or so, again read free FT article from 4 days ago.

My gut feel says, all bombed out stock will double in next couple of months if vaccine is approved, which looks positive at the moment.

I am also in it for long term, too cheap. Should be 90p come 2021!
