The issues with the Rings of Power is not the source material, the script and story structure are just terrible, like their were written by morons for morons, there just is no depth. If you strip out the CGI the Rings of Power is a complete mess. And unfortunately I do not believe that Amazon can have the strength of character needed to make a 40K tv series in the grim dark vein that's required.

The reason the game Space Marine 2 is getting so much love is that the gameplay and story are solid, and the world is presented in all of its cyber gothic beauty and not watered down.

The fact that the Space Marine 2 game has been such a big success and appears to be growing should be all the evidence that Games Workshop needs that sticking to their universe without watering it down with modern woke BS is essential. And speaking to friends that are "minority" groups of different ethnic backgrounds, genders, and rainbow status they all feel the same, that they love the 40k universe for what GW has already established and dont want it ruined by trying to have ham fisted representation.

Considering the company are expecting profits, taking a short position now is counter intuitive, as such maybe the short is a way to shake the tree and clean up any free shares

I would imagine the large funds that are holding will be pushing for a takeover, (Liontrust, Abrdn Investment), have all had tough years, so they will want the return to add to their own bottomlines.

now is the perfect takeover time for a private investment firm, with Yougov now a mature business with revenue streams and baked into the marketing/research sector.

would expect a figure north of £1.5billion based on assets, brand, reach, etc.

Based on how bad Rings of Power is, and how its bad for the LOTR brand, I hope Games Workshop walks away from Amazon for the creation of the TV Series.. The worst thing they could do to 40K is make it for a "modern audience".

40k is great because of its own voice and ahead of the times already.

Lots of big buys over the past couple of weeks using sells to hold the price down, someone knows something big is coming.

And now they have a new broker with JP Morgan, and the results are coming on the 29th Oct, which they already said would be ahead of profit expectations of £40-£50m.

Could see this either be a taker over target, in which case looking at £1.5billion MCAP, or listing on the NASDAQ = £££

seems like there is value to be had here, although I expect that another shake will come soon while the new shares enter the market

If they do have to raise funds via a share placing, it would be better now get the bad news out of the way and focus on building inventory and orders
