EVE SP is priced to go bust - so if you don't think it will, then you should expect the SP to be higher

I think there is more than enough proof points to suggest the market that EVE participate is UP. No doubt in my mind

I also am 90% confident that EVE will have benefited signifcantly from the increase in market. Even at a fraction of the sales uplift that EMMA reported would be a great thing for EVE

Nice response W - appreciate the time taken to explain your position and your views are valuable on this board. Agree - it's not healthy for any investor to think this is a risk-free, no brainer ten-bagger with bells on. Perhaps you are trying to talk yourself out of investing here - the time you spend here shows you are tempted :-)

But... you do scome across as super pessimistic about EVE. Yes, you are open to the possibility you are wrong, but you seem to hold such a strong opinion that it will not go well.

Yet a another downbeat post from W who is not invested here. Why do you feel the need to constantly pour cold water on the optimism around the SP and trading update.

Do you get a kick out of being some kind of fairy godmother - thinking you are helping people avoid losing money here?

FACT - this share is way over sold, and cheap following the Woodford debacle
FACT - company performance has improved and market has moved favourably

I appreciate that Woodford piece and selling in now 'water under the bridge' and perhaps not enough people see a bright future for EVE.

However, there is more than enough for me here to suggest the SP will go up signifcantly in the coming weeks and months. whether EVE goes on to bigger/better things of if it is 'taken out'

True - big news / heavy buying / heavy selling will always throw a curveball at MM games

SPs are not a science. For stocks that are less liquid than the big FTSE stocks, MMs need to do whatever they feel best to provide a market and make a profit. lots of buying does not always mean the SP has to go up in the Short tem . Following the recent fireworks with his stock, MMs know that bring the SP down will encourage people to buy - which may be want they want is they have a big sell order they are trying to execute.

Inches? Yards? Nah, i think it will be feet - somewhere in between :-)

The difference in views is whether a decent (but not tranformational) update will re-rate the SP or not?

You are very downbeat - you glass is half empty . You seem to tune in on what might go wrong as to what might go right. Perhaps that is a great quality for an investor

I however, I am more optimistic. What resonated with me was, bring marketing spend forward (this will not have been possibl without strong performance given they will be under pressure to hit Q2 Contribution target and conserve cash), most of our competitors are shut , sales sounded good - talked positively about single matresses and we already know from a previous RNS that sales of premium products has gone well.

Whether the update is a damp squib will come down to what we are each expecting - I'm confidenf of a good update, where it may disappoint me is if the management are too pessimistic about the remainder of the period (as Halfords have been)

What I'd give for a nice long sleep for a week - it;s goning to feel a long week waiting for the trading update. For me, it's a case of how positive, not whether or not it is positive. I hope it starts to attract a new breed of investors.

Mystified by short term SP trends. Lots of selling today yet holding firm. On other days a few sells sends it downhill.
