I agree that PDG looked in the driving seat. They've cut costs well and look to position themselves coming out of the pending recession.

I think it was a simple merger. Not an acquisition by either company. I don't think PDG inquired about any funding for it either. The advantages for PDG to merge would have been to decrease costs even more so. The used vehicle market is going to lead revenue for the next few years and i think it wanted to dominate that market.

It looks like PDG net debt is much lower than 2008 and the costs have been more controlled too. So I dont actually believe they will go under.

It will have to continue with its strategy of the used car market for the next two to three years whilst the unemployment rate declines (I'm assuming it will increase throughout the pending recession) and consumers start to feel more confident to purchase big ticket items.

I agree. I read that the debt burden of US NG companies has increased significantly over the last three years because the price of NG has been too low.

If we see bankruptcies in the US, supply will fall.

I took a look at the US Shale Gas companies breakeven points and it started off at $3.00 to $3.25 and rose up from there. So all US Shale gas companies are trading at a significant loss atm and I expect them to continue to file for bankruptcies.
