No longer a HARL shareholder but look through the posts to keep up to date - the reasons I no longer invest in HARL were posted at the time. Very hopeful some of the sub-contract work will find it's way to Arnish, but the lion's share will probably go to Kishorn Port.
Main issue I see for HARL is any contract award for ScotWind will probably not be until Q4 2022 or later and HARL has a tendency to burn through cash very quickly. Another placing at current share price would be the end. It's a vicious circle as the only way the share price will move up is with contracts. If the last placing could have been avoided HARL would be in a much stronger contract negotiation point now and the share price would be 30p+ sadly not to be.

As some will know I live local to the Arnish site and decided to invest in HARL to show my support for local jobs. I have concluded I am neither a shareholder or investor but a CHARITY - defined as 'help or money given to those in need' ie the board. Nothing from the AGM notes (thanks Lottie & Stokey) have convinced me my shares will have any future value, I will sell my holding tomorrow and as Lottie says 'bugger off'. It gets to the point where reality hits home, flogging a dead horse etc.
I am hopeful the Arnish workforce will have continued employment from Scotwind contracts next year, but very much doubt they will be employed by Harland & Wolff.

Total shambles of a company. Only positive there will be no more placings at the current price, if there is it's goodbye HARL. Hope for a glint of positivity from the AGM, it will be a very long climb to regain the lost 40% in the share price in the last few weeks from the recent high.

Re Si_Derman 21:53 - You could easily be talking about the HARL board's regards for the private investor - 'pumped, dumped and moved on to the next target'.

Totally agree with all of your post Lottie123. I am local to the Arnish site and invested in the company to support local jobs. However, the company has done very little of late to support shareholders / investors with a disastrous placing and the weekends debacle of the RNLI RNS. I'm afraid the sentiment we have for local jobs has not been duplicated by HARL to its investors. I intended to purchase more shares today but took a step back, had a real good think and realised enough is enough. Until the company can show it has a firm financial footing for the future and not misleading with the information it releases I will not invest another penny - and - will most likely divest if anymore deceit comes to light.

Even at a lowly 1.5 on your scale investor confidence will now be low. I planned to top up this week to average out my high 20's purchases, however, in light of the weekends disclosure I won't be adding now. I stupidly purchased more in last weeks placing, never expecting to be making a loss on those.
Investor confidence will be shot now hopefully the share price does not hit an all-time low this week. It's going to be a very long uphill battle to get to last weeks high of 29p again.

Had an interesting chat tonight with friends about HARL and its current manufacturing capabilities / experience. The last ship built by HARL at Belfast was in 2003, an MOD ferry called the Anvil Point. I'm aware the company has aspirations to be a ship builder again, but after an 18 year gap is it realistic this will happen? Maybe the company's future is in the renewables manufacturing sector and ship repairs in which it currently operates and is more likely to gain future work.
I offer a case in point of the Ferguson's shipyard in Glasgow that the Scottish Government now own as the yard became uneconomical in private ownership. It tendered for new contracts a few months ago and lost out, the tenders are currently with four eastern European yards. It would be interesting to know other peoples thoughts on the best returns for the company & investors moving forward.

Just been reading through the RNS from 8th November, this probably holds up better than a now deleted tweet.
'Appledore will be responsible for the repairs, maintenance and other works programmes defined by RNLI for its FLEET of lifeboats and other vessels'.
Note FLEET- not just the local lifeboat.

Lets hope the board make a statement on Monday to clear up any confusion.

I invested in the company to show support for the jobs created at Arnish, very local to me. Feel badly let down tonight if the top brass have strung investors along with lies and put the company and jobs in jeopardy. Also, if the company is untrustworthy it will put doubt on gaining future contracts / partnerships.

Harland and Wolff did the same earlier this week - share price dropped 30% next day & now trading less than the placing price. Needless to say I had my fingers burnt along with many others.

Thanks Guys. I am still invested and purchased more shares via PrimaryBid. My share purchases have been to show support for the company but more than that for the local community in Stornoway with higher paid jobs at Arnish.
I was probably a little naive in investing in an AIM company, my recent purchases have been 27p / 28p as I followed the share price up on the recent good news. I really hate being called a deramper, I only realised what the word meant recently. Naive or what?

Apologies I was not aware of that. Staggering number to be honest, wish I had known before I invested in the company. I did some due diligence but evidently not enough. It's never going to get us rich then!!

Shares in issue after latest placing around 168 million ( latest placing added around 37 million).

Just logged into eBay to check my watchlist, a book by Tom McCluskie - 'The Rise And Fall Of Harland And Wolff.
I'm sure the company has a strong future despite the battering to investors today, let's keep our fingers crossed.

I am a very new investor in the company, my first share purchase was late summer when I saw the Arnish yard was being given a new lease of life. I live in the Outer Hebrides and know what re-opening the yard means to the locals in Stornoway.
The Scotwind offshore wind contracts that will be awarded in Jan 2022 gives me confidence the company will thrive with work in the renewables sector with work for all the yards.
I have topped up my share holding along the way, initially felt let down this evening at the share price dilution, I hope for greater things for the company and hope I made the right call by going with the fundraise and looking forward to a good future.
Feel sorry for the long term investors who have taken some knocks along the way and can understand you feeling let down, fingers crossed the share price will hold at a reasonable level and climb during 2022.

The similarity between Alien Metals, Greatland Gold & Velocys daily posts makes you realise people are easily led by the rampers. Velocys was a classic last week. These are not get rich quick companies and will just drain you of your savings and mental health. Me, I no longer invest in any of them and feel better for it.

Absolutely on the money with your post. There are a minority of AIM investors who make a decent return. A recent post on Greatland Gold was staggering 'I have withdrawn my pension pot and "invested" in Greatland Gold' guess the poor guy will be working for a very long time.
Do some research and check how much of their own money the directors of AIM companies have invested, in most cases very little, just keep asking for more from gullible investors

Sorry state to be honest, the number of investors travelling on the rollercoaster that is Alien. I doubt you will ever make the big money you think you are owed. The number of shares in issue says it all. I had a small investment but decided to get out of the spaceship, it was orbiting out of control.
